On the left the Gatlin Shotgun from Smith's & Robards Catalog, on the right from DLR Player's Guide.
In S&R in missing the d8 Min Str. req.
The DLR PG version could/should include the generic note for gatling weapons (to use full ROF) reported as footnote in the gatling weapons table?
maybe also dmg 1-3d6 not up to 3d6?

Unless it has been changed 1-3d6 results in damage rolls of -2 to -17 from memory.

I used to place 1d6 in the damage column and use right mouse button to add the extra dice.

By rules, 1-3d5 shotgun damage means the weapon deals:
1d6 @ long range
2d6 @ medium range
3d6 @ short range

When you drop that weapon to the character sheet, the Damage slot display 3d6+1
Now if you drag&drop the damage in the chat window, FG rolls 3d6, with negative numbers, make sum, and add +1
Same thig if you select target with CTRL+click or drag&drop on token.

As a workaround, I created three sub-attack, one for every range

That seems like exactly the opposite of what should happen. The turkey that I fired at who survived at 40 yards seems like a good case for empirical knowledge.

3d6 short
2d6 medium

Shotguns get a +2 to hit? Working on a dim memory, I guess.

Yes sir. And auto-fire is -2.

I know how shotguns work in SW :)

What I meant was that if you set the damage to 1-3d6 in FG it used to roll damage of 1 - (3-18) resulting in negative damage, as I said I usually set the damage to 1 dice and right click once for medium range and twice for short range :)

Shotgun's 1-3d6 damage is something that should be fixed in the module. It was fixed in Deluxe Player's guide some time ago from "1-3d6" to "up to 3d6". My personal take how to handle different distance damages is to add two sub-attacks to shotgun with labels: Medium range and Long range and setup their damages accordingly. This way I can also add the +2 short distance modifier to one of the entries and never needing to take it account manually. See the attached image

Note that "Sub-attacks" is a feature and doesn't require you to add shotgun to your inventory 3 times... just right click on attack row and select "Create Sub-attack". This is additional attack line that's associated to existing weapon

Thanks for the image, Ikael...this will be useful when handling some weapons in Savage Rifts that have the same type of breakdown at range.
