Good Morning community,

I had some questions about the links to the library and spells associated with the cleric class regarding the Pathfinder/3.5 rule set.

Let me explain what I do first so that everyone has an idea of how I run Fantasy Grounds. I create characters in Hero Lab and I import them into Fantasy Grounds. Now when you look under skills, and even equipment the quick links (icon for library information) is not there. Below are the questions that I have:

1. Now for each separate tab that has this link, is there a maximum amount that you can have before FG crashes?
2. What I did was load all the cleric/Paladin/Druid spells on a character sheet to give the player access to prepare their spells when they want without going to the library since they can change their spells each day. When I did this FG would sometimes take a long time to load the actions tab or sometimes it would just crash. Is there a maximum amount of links you can have on a particular tab without FR crashing?
3. Also the knowledge skills are showing in the chat log that the skill is untrained. Even though the class skill is checked on the skills tab for that particular skill. How do I reflect the change that it is a class skill?
4. Since I imported characters the items do not have the link associated to the library as well. Would I have to add each item from the library to the sheet in order to reflect this on the actions tab as well?

Thanks

Not sure about most of your questions but when I DMed 3.5/Pathfinder I also used to use Hero Lab and fill out Clerics with every spell in their list. I only ever got the game to where PCs were around 5th/6th level, but Clerics did take noticeably more time to load (IIRC), and their XML files were close to double the size of other classes/characters with no/fewer spells. That said, file size was 250 kb vs 100 or so.

I unfortunately do not know the amount, but I am guessing it would have to be a lot. I know the more you put into it, the longer the load time.

2. What I did was load all the cleric/Paladin/Druid spells on a character sheet to give the player access to prepare their spells when they want without going to the library since they can change their spells each day. Tldr: The more stuff in the actions tab, the longer the load.

The actions tab is one of the largest on a character sheet in PF. I would never load every spell a cleric could cast on the actions tab. No only will it lag the hell out a person loading the actions tab to the point where windows will complain about an unresponsive program, it is just not practical. Sure the ability to choose whatever spell you want is there, but the amount of scrolling would be a nightmare. What my players have done with their clerics is pick the spells that they know they need and go with those. I believe on of my cleric players didn't add any new lower level spells once they got unto the higher levels. They just kept the same ones prepped. Even then, loading the sheet caused a slow down.

3. Also the knowledge skills are showing in the chat log that the skill is untrained. Even though the class skill is checked on the skills tab for that particular skill. How do I reflect the change that it is a class skill?

That is a bug that should be corrected in the hot fix patch 3.2.1. I just ignore the untrained part and roll with it. If you really want to check if it is untrained, check the party sheet.

4. Since I imported characters the items do not have the link associated to the library as well. Would I have to add each item from the library to the sheet in order to reflect this on the actions tab as well?

Unless you want eveything on the tab, the HL import will add the relivant items (weapon attacks) to the sheet. Anything else you want to add can be linked at your leisure or built yourself. Once again, my players just build the actions they know they will need (bombs, tangle foot bags, channels, ect.) as they need. All the characters I have imported include the basics and you can link as you see fit. I hardly ever link as after a few sessions you know what the stuff does and as a GM I can find it faster on d20pfrd than looking at a link in a tab on their sheet.

But these are my own observations and uses with the PF rule set. You experience will vary. But as I said a few times up there, keep the tabs only as full as you need. Once you get to higher levels, a level 10 cleric will take several seconds to load into the tracker (even an npc) and loading the sheet takes several seconds. The less load time, the less risk of an FG crash. Oh and never attempt to load 100+ NPCs at a time. Not only can it crash FG, if it doesn't you are looking at a several minute load time..

Any other PF sheet questions, feel free to ask.
