I would like to use Fantasy Grounds (using VASSAL now) to create dungeon maps on the fly. Meaning I lay tiles, add symbols for doors (think basic D&D type drawings), add walls (etc.) and then use the all the animal.monster/player pogs and stuff I have.

I suppose I could use a large grid and then create my own tokens to use for walls and the like but was hoping to avoid that or maybe someone has already done that?

This can't be done in the current version of FG but you can do line drawings or sketches in a black 'map'

If you got a nice collection of mapping tokens together you could use the layers extension to do this: https://www.fantasygrounds.com/forums/showthread.php?20231-Enhanced-Images-%28layers%29-for-FG-3-0-CoreRPG-%28and-rulesets-based-on-CoreRPG%29

Here's an example using map tile tokens: https://www.fantasygrounds.com/forums/showthread.php?20176-A-slightly-better-drawing-mode&p=168266&viewfull=1#post168266

Looking through the examples now, looks quite doable. Thanks for the heads up!
