Just out of curiosity, what's the reason for allowing players to see the dice shadows when the GM makes a roll he doesn't want the players to see? In a way it tips the players off that something's cooking behind the scenes. Not a big deal, I was just wondering why it's implemented that way.

Thanks!

If the GM truly wanted a "silent" roll, he does have the option of rolling the check outside the chat window. That way there are no shadows.

This simulates what would happen in a face-to-face game when the GM rolls behind the screen. A lot of GMs use this just to keep the players on their toes, thinking something might be about to happen. Keep randomly rolling during the session so the players won't know if you're rolling for something secret or not.
