manage characters option

I am just trying to help someone out who bought a standard license and is having trouble with the manage characters function. It is just closing when she clicks start. Do you need the ruleset for the game in question (savage worlds in this instance) to use the manage characters feature?

I don't know for sure but you have to pick a ruleset before you can use the character manager and I would imagine that if you can't use it without a particular ruleset it would not appear on the list. AFAIK only the ones I own appear on my list.

Its is giving her the option to select the campaign but it is then just shutting down. Very strange.

Has the relevant modules been shared properly?

Possibly also permissions issue if the folder can't be written to?

Open console.log in the <FG App data> directory after trying to run manage characters. See if there are any errors there.

If no errors, check in <FG App data>\cache\<campaign name> and see if there is a campaign.dat file that isn't very small (0-1KB).
