Hello,

I'm already have a licence for Fantasy Grounds, but not on Steam.
I would like to purchase the "Fantasy Grounds - D&D Complete Core Class Pack" on steam (-20%), but I don't know if it's possible (and how?) to active the Core class pack bought on steam on my FG.
My version of FG is not installed on the same computer than Steam. Is it possible to buy somes modules/packs/... on steam, and juste use the licence key to another computer without steam ?

PS : Am I allowed to activated my FG on steam AND another computer with the classical software ?

Thanks a lot !

HiCmoiPhenix welcome to FG and to the community.

Firtstly the 20% off is available via the FG store as well as on Steam. If you are running a PC then you can mix and match your purchases from either Steam or from the FG site. As long as you tick the box in setting to check for Steam purchases when you update it doesn't matter where they come from. To use Steam you will have to register your key with Steam; I understand that Smiteworks send these keys every so often to Steam so that they know you have purchased the software from Smiteworks.

If you are running a mac then don't buy anything via Steam (except the client) buy all additional modules via the FG website. Modules won't run on the mac because of ... well its some reason.

I think you can activate your license on more than one computer but you will only be able to run one client at a time. You can't purchase DLC without first having the FG client installed. So you can't purchase modules on Steam and not have the client running in Steam

Thanks a lot Zacchaeus for your response :)

I didn't see the 20% off on the FG store, the price is still $49.99. Does I miss something ?

As you suggest, I'll try to activate my licence on Steam also. That's will be easier to manage for me, especially if they are synchronised together.

PS : Can I use the D&D Complete Core Class Pack for D&D 3.5 also, or Pathfinder ? Or only for the version 5 ?

Welcome CmoiPhenix

You will need to install the Steam client on the computer you want to use this on.

The D&D Complete Core Classes is the 5e PHB - it is not compatible with 3.5 or 4. 5e is more fun anyway :)

There are some basic 3.5e modules included and there are lots of pathfinder modules available for free on the forums.

You can use it on two computers so long as they are both yours and you only use FG on one at a time,

Thanks damned,

I'm so sad that's didn't work for the V.3.5 :(
I'll double check the modules lists, and try to find one who have the same functionnality like the "drag & drop" any races/classes/items to create the différents characteres.

By chance, do you know one or a couple of mods who can do that ?

That is not to do with the Modules - that is the coding behind the ruleset.
Playing 3.5e on Fantasy Grounds has more functionality than on any other virtual table top but no ruleset has the automation that the 5e one does. Thousands of programming hours have gone into that ruleset and its unlikely that we will see that level of features on the other rulesets. Getting close to half of all games on FG are 5e.
Whilst lacking the drag and drop character building - the combat features are excellent for 3.5e and Pathfinder.

Or use PCGen to make the characters and import them. :)

5e is fun and the standard license includes the 5e SRD which is plenty to get you started.
