Armor check penalty check box

This check box doesn't seem to do anything. Am I missing something?

Do you have an actual penalty (e.g. -2) entered in the "Skill Chk" field on the "Inventory" tab? If you do, and then select the check box between Armor and "Max Stat", then that penalty will be applied to all skills on the "Skills" tab that have the armour icon next to them.
