Hiding Effects

I have a pc that was bitten by a diseased rat and infected. how can I have effect on him (cant regain hps normally) without it actually showing up for PC"s to see in effects portion?

If you look on the Combat Tracker you'll see three small toggles at the left end of the row on which the effect is shown. One of them allows you to make the effect visible to the DM only. There is also an extension which gives more options but I can't link it for you on this machine, but someone else might.
