View Full Version : Packaging Tokens in Modules

I'm looking to sell some Modules on DMsGuild for Fantasy Grounds. There are plenty of videos out there to explain the various aspects , but I'm having a issue with the tokens. Basically I load my tokens into the Fantasy Grounds 'tokens' directory, and can then drag them into the tokens area while exporting the module. My issue arises when I import this module and go to the token bag representing my new Module. This token bag then has a token bag inside it for either Host or Shared (depending where I loaded them in the directory), if I used a folder for these tokens it will then be another bag inside this one.
The best I can do is load the tokens without a folder directly into Shared or Host, but this is still 2 bags before you reach the tokens. What I want is to just have a bag in the Tokens menu, that you click on and there are my tokens - no additional bags to open.
Any ideas how?
I've already splattered images all through the tokens directory and they have to be in the Shared or Host folder to access them in Fantasy Grounds.
This is an example of my Comic book style Tokens:

Welcome ctmorg
Have a look at the Pulp Tokens or Letter Tokens on this link.
https://www.fg-con.com/free-downloads/
They are just zip files - so open them up and you will see what you need to do - its pretty straight forward.

\Tokens
\Tokens\token1.png
\Tokens\token2.png
\Tokens\token3.png
And zip it up right and rename.

Thanks damned,
That seems to do the trick - I guess I'll do the maps separately within an exported ".mod" file so the grid will already be scaled, and another for the tokens in a ".zip" file to be unpacked.
*Update
I see now, I've opened up the mod file and I will just alter the tokens folder so I can all in one ".mod" with tokens and maps... and anything else.
Thanks again Damned, I just needed a push in the right direction.

Hi, ctmorg, welcome to FG and to the Community.
Funnily enough I just learned how to do this recently; The trick is to create a folder inside your campaign called tokens. Put all the tokens you need into that folder and only use the tokens from that folder when you are building your module in the campaign. Then, when you export the module, all the tokens will be there in a folder called campaign.

Unless you are just making a module full of tokens, you do not need to to make a zip file with only tokens. Follow what Zacchaeus suggests. SRD tokens are pretty safe but if you made custom tokens you need to make sure they are in the same directory as your campaign yiu are exporting. If you dragged custom NPC into that campaign, you need to put the tokens into the campaign and reapply them into the NPC records as well.
I recently really struggled with that,

Unless you are just making a module full of tokens...
I am pretty much making Token only Modules. I include Maps in my packs, and recently have been expanding on the maps more. Generally I produce tokens with a couple of maps so the tokens have somewhere relevant to be. I'm not doing adventures per-say.
The easiest way I have found after Damned's advise is to just export the module and include the tokens - then change the ".mod" file to a ".zip" extract it and move the tokens up to the token folder (out of their subfolder, then delete the subfolder). Then I just zip it all up again and change it back to ".mod".
This way my maps are included, with the grid already set to 100 (the default size I use for all maps already), and my tokens are in a single bag within the tokens menu.
After all I'm an Artist not a Writer, and I leave all that fancy word stuff to others. :D
