Best ruleset for LAMENTATIONS OF THE FLAME PRINCESS

This game is OGL based but I'm not sure what ruleset to use, or how good it is.

Anyone play this? Any recommendations?

either use Corerpg with the the more core extentsion and build your self a simple character sheet or use the Castles and crusades ruleset as its similar in using Amor class and attributes the same way , not sure about saving throws. There are some other community written rules sets for other old school games but they are all showing their Sge

If its OGL based Id see if you can use the 3.5e ruleset...
leozelig built his DCCRPG ruleset on the 3.5e engine.

I got the BoH bundle for this. Just how dark and scary is it in the right hands? Are TPKs close ti the norm?

It's old school so yes to TPK's and in the right hands it's very dark and scarey
