Question here.. as I'm sure there's a better way to do this than what I'm doing.

One of my players is playing an alchemist, and we're trying to setup the special abilities (like bombs).

This is as close as we worked it out:

This is clunky and I assume there's a better way to set up this ability.

Because save only acts as a total negate and no option for a half-damage I'm not sure how else to do it.

That's pretty much how we've done it:

You can also do it as a weapon, which allows you to include a reminder of the range:

It's arguably better to do it as a weapon, since bombs are supposed to be treated as weapons, but you still have to do the splash damage as a spell. The problem is getting a crit to work correctly at higher levels, since only the first dice is multiplied.

Ok, thanks. So it looks like it's going to take some GM + Player work either way.
