View Full Version : Has anyone tried Dynamic DNS to connect a game?

Just looking at my router and there is a dynamic DNS option offered by Asus (asuscomm.com) and I was wondering if that works for people to connect. I don't have any issues with the FG alias but I thought I'd try it.

If I connect from my machine to my machine it says I have a license conflict. I can believe that is working properly.

Has anyone (using different computers) been successful with this?

I haven't tried DDNS.

As for connecting to the host from the host, when you type in the address use localhost and you won't get the license conflict.

DDNS and the game's alias feature essentially do the same thing - temporarily associate a name with your external address.

I use DDNS in my Asus router and use it for all external connectivity. It works fine.
