Welp, I want to first say a big THANK YOU to EVERYONE who has helped me as i banged my head against the wall, trying to get Fantasy Grounds up and running the way I needed it to. I gave alot of consideration to just running my dark sun campaign running the fully supported 5e. Heck I even bought the PHB for FG and was looking to get the MM for it as well. But I really wanted to run using 4e as i love that sytem (with a few house rules).. Anyway a couple of times I thought very seriously about just going back to Roll20, and not worrying with all the automation. But decided to stick it out. Now that I have my information parsed and installed. I am well on my way to starting my campaign. Already have 3 of the 4 players logging in and their characters built. Thank you everyone that helped us get to this point.

Anyway that brings me to FG3 or FGX or whatever its going to be called that is using Unity. I have a couple of questions. Will my parsed files for 4e be useable on the new system? Will the old version of FG still be available if we dont wish to upgrade?

thank you again all
and for now we are sticking with FG..will see what Unity version brings.

The developers have said the first priority of the unity version will be backwards compatibility, so I would expect your modules to work. If there are changes I would expect a script to run to update the library modules. So I would expect the files to be usable.

Doug has said that fyi with unity is all about compliance and bringing the older stuff into the newer framework. I fully expect files continuity to work as you migrate to the unity engine if not directly then through an export/import process
