I am trying to use the SRD Equipment to drag and drop a crossbow to a Redbrand Ruffian in the lost mines of phandelver module.

I put the redbrand into edit mode
I click the (+) green icon
I try to drag the light crossbow attack from the SRD WEAPON TABLE and nothing happens.

What am I doing wrong here?

See this link for what I have attempted:
Video of what I was trying to do (https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B6uFb19P7rSNTWFaSlhkdEstYmc/view?usp=sharing)

Example of this functionality in competing product...I am showing this so perhaps the developers can see an example..

You need to type those in manually the drag/drop doesn't work like that (although boy would it ever be nice if it did).

As John says, you can not drag and drop into an NPC, you can drag and drop to a PC, but not an NPC.

The npc stat block is worked differently to the way the pc character sheet works. You need to enter attacks into the npc using the wording and syntax that you can see in the npc. The easiest way is just to edit the existing weapon. Mostly that would be to change the +attack and the damage dice and type.

Bumer that it does not support this. Doing so would make the DM's job much easier.
