Lost Mine of Phandelver is an adventure for four to five characters of 1st level. During the course of the adventure, the characters will advance to 5th level. The adventure is set a short distance from the city of Neverwinter in the Sword Coast region of the Forgotten Realms setting. The Sword Coast is part of the North--a vast realm of free settlements surrounded by wilderness and adventure.

After getting my feet wet with the one-shots I'd like to run through this short campaign. As a starter set adventure it should be very beginner friendly, so everyone is welcome. If you are interested in playing, please post here on the forum as well as on the calendar. If you have any questions, ask away.

Just a heads up my friend. You may or may not have some difficulty finding many American players to join your game on that starting date. Most of us are busy getting ready for July 4th, our Independence Day.

Just as a heads up (given I only found out yesterday) I'm working til 5pm GMT this sunday so I might be a tad late but I will be there asap. If its at all possible can we push the start time to 6PM GMT?

I added another play time in the calendar section, so that people can vote. I'm fine with starting one hour later. I don't know long is the session going to be, I'd expect five hours, but since it's a campaign, we are not being forced by time as much as we are with the one-shot games.

On every other Wednesday I have a game I've committed to. It's 5.5 hours after this game. Bumping this game an hour will give me only 4.5 hours to play. So far we haven't played that long. I don't see a problem bumping the game an hour but I may have to leave if time goes over. I'm committed to this group just as I am to the other. My word is my bond. So just a heads up on this issue. I'm having so much fun with the Roleplay and combat with this group. I definitely want Kervan there for the game. So let's make this work. Kervan really makes the adventure fun and his humor is priceless. He is a great contribution to the story line and an inspiration whore. Let's not forget I owe him 5 gold. This is my thoughts on this issue.

Please keep you ruthlessness within reasonable limits :) Every character in the party should have a plausible reason to hang out with the others and vice versa. If your character is let's say half-orc enforcer Lug the Heartless, who takes pleasure in killing people, cuts off their ears and wears them around his neck as a trophy, you can imagine what sort of folks he associates with, most likely not priests of Lathander :)

The plot hook for the adventure is that your characters are traveling to Phandalin, hired by one dwarf to escort a wagon with supplies to the local trading post. Characters can of course have a different plot hook - they could just hitch a ride on the wagon (some or all of them). But in either case I'd like them to be willing to stick together after getting to Phandalin.

Ok guys, a couple of things. If you have problem with time, post here AND vote on the calendar (actually vote on the calendar in either case). But most importantly don't just send me PM, we're not looking for a common ground between me and a single player, but we're looking for a solution that suits all the players.

So far only Rufus and Jerric voted that they are ok with the new time (and Jerric sent me PM that in fact he is not). Hobben posted in the thread that he doesn't have anything else on Sunday, so I guess that's ok.

And Hydrol, you haven't voted or posted anything since the first post, are you still with us?

Kieran, just how late do you think you will be for the original time? What about starting 30 minutes later? Could you also please send me your character file so that we don't have waste any more time at the start of the game than absolutely necessary?

Yes, it should be 2+4, AC 13 (leather + dex), HP 9 (8+con). I also noticed that Raganr's abilities are missing the +1 bonus for being human. I understand that it's quite overwhelming at first putting all the D&D rules and exceptions together, but it's almost midnight here and I'm quite tired, so sorry if my answers are quite stoic.

To keep things smooth, I can fix the character for you tomorrow at the beginning of the game before you get back from work and let you 'respec' later if you want to.

Couple of things about Barnabas:

I think you have one unspend ability point as you got +1 to wisdom from your feat. He does not have any armor :confused: and you haven't prepared any spells except for those from the domain. Hit points should be 9 if I'm not mistaken.

Also what is his reason for adventuring, why would he join the other characters? My impression from his bio is that he would much rather stay home than go anywhere. Also why CN when your deity is NG? I know it doesn't have to be the same, but I was wondering if there's any reason behind it.

I guess not. We are lacking in martial characters and while Ifan would be an awesome healer for a bard, we had another cleric and another arcane caster, so those were covered. Maybe next time.

Thanks everyone for playing, it was really fun. You were really close to capturing Glasstaff, but unfortunately he managed to get away. The last fight was pretty dramatic, having the enemy use dying Ragnar as a bait proved to be very effective ;), but you guys managed to pull through by the skin of your teeth.

Hey everyone,

Kiri-Jolith tried to smite my island with a hurricane so I had to flee. I won't be able to return until Sunday at the earliest and I will have to spend the day removing my +5 boards of protection from my windows and doors.
