View Full Version : Drawing updates

I've been using a large blank canvas along with the draw tools to draw maps as my players explore them.
I've had several reports of them at times only receiving partial drawings forcing them to close and reload the map to update it. Has anyone else had these issues?
I do hope that after the unity release, there's a movement to switch to vector arrays for their draw tools + FOW.

Hmmmm no comments on this? So I will chime in.
I will state that I have hundreds invested in FG. I am a fan of all of it EXCEPT the draw TOOL. NOT toolS. No plural. Singular. Tool.
There are other VTTs that have robust toolS BUT no real support for data(unless you are a bit of a programmer). FG needs a drawing tool update in a major way. However, I don't think it is on the priority list. So sad.
I use pins and tokens to represent stuff on the map. I share the pins with a description of what is there. I will also mark the map with the tool and put a pin too. This works. I actually enjoy the pins.
I would like layers built in to FG. A layer to put tiles on and one to hide GM stuff.
Anyway that is my input.
Happy gaming.

I think Smite Works has been aware of the sub-par execution of the drawing tool for awhile. The existence of pointers and quick pointers (hold both left and right mouse button and drag a line; add Shift/Alt/Ctrl to make shapes) has lessened the priority of improving the drawing tool.

And I'm sure it will get quite an overhaul once the migration to FGU is complete and stable.

Yes, drawing tools has been on hold for FGU, since it doesn't make sense to implement the graphical changes twice.
Most of the other stuff we've been working on was stuff that was moved forward from FGU that would work on both versions.
