Hello, All

Does anyone know if the calendar in FG deal with time tracking from the Combat Tracker and when "Rests" are performed? It doesn't look like it does. If not, is there an extension that enhances it?

Thanks!

No. Game time is abstract in RPGs. Too hard to track in a calendar. In CT time moves at a snails pace and in the narrative it can move days/weeks/months in a single sentence....

That's pretty true. I guess the issue that I always have around the game table is that nobody knows what time it is. We never really deal with days/weeks/months unless it's a matter of healing. But hours are quite important.

Thanks!

I use the calendar for a rough estimate of the number of days that have passed. To pick a starting month,I just tossed a d12 and used that as the month and did the same for the day. After that I just keep track of the overnight rests and advance as needed. For times during the day, I just wing it and guess. But my players do have a rough estimate of time spent in a particular spot or how long has passed so they can get rid of those pesky negative levels.

Bluff! As the GM always tell them confidently what time it is! Its late afternoon and you are still hours from town.

A calendar extension that adds a button in the FG desktop to go forward or backward the day/month/year or write in the chat the current time would be very useful.

The calendar that is built in, allows you to set / change the current date and time, and will output the current date or time to the chat window doesn't work for you? Oh, it also allows you to keep logs that are visible only to the GM or also visible to the players attached to each date.

Oh yeah, you can customize the built-in calendar for different world systems if you'd like... (also showing log and player's view)

Hello. Yes, the built in calendar works, but its window is to big to handle during play. I play with a 14" laptop screen and that calendar fills half of it. What I'm saying is a single line window showing only day, month, the buttons to go forward or backward in these numbers and the button to write this in the chat window. I think would be clearer and faster for in-game use.
