Custom races???

I Dolie toyed around so far with the 5e set. But I'm curious but maybe one of you veterans can answer this question? How easy is it to either modify or create A custom race or class for a player, and implement it on their character sheet?

I ask this because I'm looking to start a dark sun campaign. So the typical drag and drop will not always work. Any insight would be very helpful in some upcoming decisions I need to make on platforms. Thank you

You can add or edit all information on the character sheets manually at any point in the process, so you can always change anything you see on the sheet already.

If you are looking to create automation for these new classes (to the extent that they're already supported), you can use the Par5E tool to build new classes. The conversion of the Matt Mercer classes from Critical Role are an example where people have done this.
