I noticed late last night that the Ultimate Edition license is on sale for 20% off now. It's not yet on sale on Steam (where I've bought all my Fantasy Grounds stuff), but I'm assuming it'll go on sale later today when the current sales (Hoard of the Dragon Queen / Rise of Tiamat) expire? Out of curiosity, why did you guys decide to put things on sale two at a time over a span of multiple weeks rather than all at once? Just curious. I wish I had bought the Monster Manual when it was on sale now that everything is coming and going, I've bought every single item that went on sale except for that week haha.

Ouch I just bought it a couple of days ago. Also, my first post!

Welcome to the boards! I am relatively new here myself, but everyone here is super friendly & helpful and has been very patient with my many questions as I've gotten used to using Fantasy Grounds. Sorry to hear that you just bought the most expensive product just prior to it going on sale, but I assure you, it was still worth it, and over time it won't matter that you could have saved a couple bucks.

Yes Welcome! And it's probably because Doug hates our wallets.

Hates out wallets, but loves our money :p

(But then again, don't we all!)

Hey guys, I can help explain a bit.

#1 - Steam doesn't start the new week's sales until 10 am Pacific time. That means there is always a brief period on Monday when the old sales are still available on Steam and the new ones have already started on our site.

#2 - We stagger the sales on only 1-2 products at a time for a few reasons.

a) When people see something go on sale after they have recently bought it, then that is generally not fun. It's worse if someone buys 10 or so items and sees them all go on sale a week or two after. It's inevitable that this sort of thing can happen for big annual sales like the Steam Summer Sale or the Winter Holiday Sales.

b) Even when on sale, buying the entire set of D&D stuff can add up. Staggering them makes it easier on the pocket book for many people.

c) We have a bundle discount for 25% off. These sales stack with those. Staggered sales make the bundle incrementally enhanced, whereas one massive sale would be amazing but short-lived and a rare event.

d) It's easier to get approved by our Publisher friends if we limit the sales to only a few items at a time.

Thanks for taking the time to explain! It all makes sense to me. Out of curiosity, do you plan to have sales on non-D&D add-ons at any time, such as the Savage Worlds content or anything of that nature? I'm a big Savage Worlds fan, and someday I'd like to play it on FG, but for right now I've just stuck with D&D stuff on FG. Even if it never goes on sale (or not soon), I'm planning to purchase the Deadlands bundle on Steam (which includes the Savage Worlds ruleset) at some point after the D&D sales end and I've recouped a little money to throw towards it. I really like the work that you guys put into your add-ons to make running adventures/settings/rulesets so easy and user friendly, so I'm all for supporting you.

I think there's still a few C&C products I don't have. Interested in non-5e sales here as well.

Yeah! I'm officially ULTIMATE now! Now I can get in touch with some friends I have who were interested in playing but couldn't afford the license right now and let them now that we are all set to play :)

Also, I just wanted to point out, on the FG.com store, the Sword Coast Adventure's Guide is listed at $39.99 ($31.99 on sale), but on Steam it's cheaper at $34.99 ($27.99 on sale). Is this on purpose??

Could be regional pricing that Steam can do that smiteworks can't.
