5E Effects with limited use (SR/LR)

Hello,
I'm trying to setup a few personal effects for my character, class ability related mostly (Second Wind), but am having trouble forcing the engine to limit me to one use until SR/LR.

I have Second Wind setup as a heal '1d10+(FTR) [SELF]'

But it shows up as the attached image does, with a star to the left instead of a circle/check box for a 'use'. I downloaded an example level 20 fighter sheet and it has the circle/check box in place.

The Second Wind I have was done manually but I have also dragged the ability from the PHB Module into Abilities as well, and I get the same result either way.

I think I figured it out...setting mode to 'Preparation' allowed me to set a number and the frequency (1 REST). But is there any way to specify short or long rest for the reset?

Think I figured that out too, rest = short rest, day = long rest?
