Hi everyone, I'm a new user to fantasy grounds so forgive me if this has been asked. I was unable to find anything via search.

First, is there a way to import or paste a previously generated character into fantasy grounds from the stat block standard? I have a pile of characters that I've built over the years and they all have stat blocks as an output. I saw that fantasy grounds displayed characters in multiple stat block formats but I didn't see anything that pointed to it being able to accept a stat block as a valid entry method. I hope I'm wrong there.

Second, are there any extensions for moving the time automatically on the calendar for a long rest 8 hours or an hour or 2 for a short rest?

Thanks!

The answer depends on which game/ruleset you're talking about.

If you're talking about Pathfinder, there is a creature parser that will transform one or more stat blocks into an FG module, but they will be NPCs, not PCs (look for the creature parser stickied thread in the PF/3.5 forum). I don't think there's an easy way to directly convert from stat block to PC. HeroLab has an export format that can be imported directly into FG, and I think there are tools around other commercial character creators as well.

I think the Par5e tool will do a similar thing for 5E.

He's specifically asking about Pathfinder. Ideally we are looking for a way to export characters from Yet Another Pathfinder Character Generator into Fantasy Grounds without having to script Excel to parse the pc data into XML format ourselves.

Nope.
Not available at this time - it would require someone to write a transform...

And no - the Calendar is manual.

And welcome to you both!

Certainly HeroLab (https://www.wolflair.com/index.php?context=hero_lab) can do this and I think PCGen (https://pcgen.sourceforge.net/01_overview.php) can also do it. If I'm understanding the question.

Yes - but not from Yet Another Pathfinder Character Generator (https://yapcg.sourceforge.net/)...

Oh, right. I didn't realize that was an actual thing. Sorry!

That's what I was afraid of, but I just wanted confirmation on it. Thanks!

As Zacchaeus points out there is Herolab and PCGen support.
Time does not move in any fixed way in an RPG.
One four hour gaming session might compise of less than 60seconds of in game time and with a wave of the GMs hand 4months time might pass in 6 seconds of real life.
The Calendar is an excellent tool for tracking what has happened (a log) rather than being an accurate manager of the current time.
