Hi Dulux-Oz, I use your DOE extensions and love them. Thank you for the work. I have done a lot of mapping for different sounds in a LMOP campaing and am about to take the players to the SKT. I would like to be able to transfer all the miniboards I created not to do the work again. Do you have a way of doing this? I read all I could on the forum and also the manual and did not find anything about this. Thank you for the help.

You can export your sounds to a module. Type /export in chat and press return. Fill in the name etc and tick the Sound options you want then click export. You can then open the module you created in another campaign.

That's good - Syrinscape will continue to update their older SoundSets over the coming months, so you may have to keep an eye on the Syrinscape Updates and check periodically.

Rob, a little bit back, I noticed that the fireball soundlink needed to be reset. It may have just been me though.

After happily using the DOE Sound Extension for many years to link Syrinscape and Fantasy Grounds, I've now run into some issues, following the latest Windows update. I can't seem to set the default playback device from the sound icon in my taskbar any more. If I instead "Open Sound settings", and choose the device from there, I run into issues. When I connect my Sounds channel in Teamspeak, in a new tab, it switches off the mic on my Speech channel, and I can either hear my own voice back, or I can't hear the sounds from Syrinscape at all. Does anyone have any suggestions as to how I can fix this? Thanks!

Callum, I experience the same thing. I wish I had advice though, but I don’t. I just tweaked with it and a couple reboots and everything started working again. I have no idea what happened.

Delux, should we wait for your October release of sounds to get all the fixes?

If I'm understanding what you are trying to do and in case this helps (not sure if TS setup works the same as Discord), I use the Voicemeeter Banana setup between Discord, Discord ptb, Fantasy Grounds, and Syrinscape. I have the virtual A and B cable purchased and pipped between the two discord instances per ROb2e's Discord and FG sounds setup on Youtube. I ran into an issue a while back from a Windows Update similarly. I was able to go into the new "open Sound Settings" and adjust some things in the "App volume and device preferences" section found at the bottom (for me, it was mostly messing with Discord). There was also a discord update where they reset the settings, so I needed to set them back up. In Voicemeeter Banana, I reset my settings like Rob2e shows on his youtube for Discord setup. In FG, I have Sounds in the options turned to "on". Now, to get sounds to work, Here's what I do:

1. Open Voicemeetr Banana. Make sure Hardware Input 1 is set to your mic and has the B1 channel on. Make sure Hardware Input 2 is set to the VB Audio Cable A output and that both channel A1 and B1 are on. Make sure Hardware Input 3 is set to VB Audio Cable B output and that no channels are on. Under Virtual Inputs, make sure the first one under Voicemeeter Vaio has channel A1 on. The one with Voicemeeter Aux can be off. Make sure the Hardware Output is set for your physical headset speakers/speakers. Save your settings.

2. Go to the new "open Sound Settings," and make sure the output device is set to the Voicemeeter input (the VAIO one). Make sure the input device is set to the Voicemeeter Output (the VAIO one).

3. Open FG. Make sure sounds are on.

4. Open Discord - check to make sure the input device is set to the physical mic and output device is set to the VB Audio Cable A input. Make sure both have volume up to your preference.

5. Open Discord PTB - check to make the input device to the VB Audio Cable B output and output device is set to VB Audio Cable A input. Make sure input has full volume. Make sure output volume is turned to 0.

6. Go into the same voice chat room with both apps.

7. Go to the new "Open Sound Settings," and change the output and input to the Cable B option for both. Close the window to make sure the setting takes.

8. Open Syrinscape Desktop App. Wait for it to completely load up (you should see the buttons pop up at the bottom under a sound setting you select)

9. Go back to the new "Open Sound Settings," and change the output and input back to what it was in step 2 above. Close the window to make sure the setting takes.

10. Get a buddy other than you in the chat.

11. Go into Fantasy Grounds and type out a sound in the chat that you know activates a sound. I use lightning bolt. If you use the soundsets manually in Syrinscape, click one.

12. Hopefully, the other player and you on your speaker/headset both hear the sound.

You've put me in a hard place with that question - on the one hand I'd like people to purchase each months Edition (like they would a magazine) because it helps me out, but on the other hand I can't really justify recommending people purchase a product that is "broken", if its on a dozen SoundeSets out of the several hundred that are in the Library. Yes, I'll try to get all the fixes (so far) out in October's Edition, but I can't garuntee it - especially if Syrinscape Updates more between now and then.

So its your choice - some people can afford $5 a month/Edition (its about the cost of a godd cup of coffee, after all), and some can't. <shrug>

(Oh, and BTW, irs "Dulux", not "Delux" - although I am rather "luxurious or sumptuous; of a superior kind", even if I do so so mayself. :p )

Callum - I'm running into issues too. However, if I understand what you are saying, if you "Open Sound Settings" by right clicking on the speaker icon in your lower right tray, to the right there is a choice for "Sound Control Panel". If you choose it, you get the pop up menu that you would normally be accustomed. My issue is, they've renamed stuff in this last update and it's messed me up so the sound doesn't work...(I'll post that in a different post once I get exasperated enough trying to figure it out)...

You guys have me concerned. I'm not sure I have the recent windows update. Do you know which one it is? I will say that many times with a windows update it changes the names of my voicemeeter inputs and outputs and you have to look really closely at the names as it might look like it is the Voicemeeter Aux input for example but when you look at the detailed description, you realize it is Cable A. That happens to me more than I care to mention! I think the key is to not pay as much attention to the "bold" wording which you can change yourself if you want to rename an input/output, but rather focus on the "light colored" wording below the bold. For example, my Cable B Input has the "title" Cable B Input in Bold and underneath that is the description "VB Audio Cable C". What I always pay attention to is the VB Audio Cable C as that is the "true" input. Hope that helps.

Hey Gwydion,
Thanks for the reply. I had just gotten everything how I wanted it (with your help 2 days ago - lol) and then the update came and definitely changed the names etc. I'll go to my previous thread from two days ago and go over what I've done and not clutter this forum post. The post will be a long one so it may be in a bit when I get some time to write it down. I'm finding an issue also with Syrinscape where it's not even letting me click the buttons now when in Voicemeeter...

Hi LordEntrails - I agree - and it's something I do. However, that doesn't help for Windows Updates as they change the names of things (and that seems to affect Discord as well). I mean, cripes, I have an entry that is a Discord Input item after yesterday's Windows update that now reads: "Cable B Output (VB Audio Cable A)". SMH...The parenthetical is the one to go by and I'm hoping I've figured this thing out. If not, I'll be adding to a different forum thread. This thread isn't a good place for this as Dulux's extension rocks and has nothing to do with this!

OMG I am so embarrassed. Sorry about that.
I think that Syrinscape doing those updates was out of your control, and therefore does not meet the unspoken agreement of free fixes. If they buy into it now, then they are good to go.
On a personal note I can't do the $5 a month, but I do try to do every other month.

When I connect in TeamSpeak using my Sounds identity (in a different tab, as per the instructions), the mic for my GM identity gets switched off. Hi Callum, I'm using Discord so I can't really help with teamspeak. My comment though is to go through all of your settings within Teamspeak and VoiceMeeter (if you use that). When I had the Windows update, it changed a bunch of settings. I walked through everything and found I had to make changes to almost everything to other choices due to the update messing up the settings and changing them. My suspicion is the update may have done the same to you so I'd recommend double checking. The update also changed the names of a lot of the Input/Output devices. I found if you look at the name in the parenthetical (not the main listed name), that is the accurate one. Hopefully this helps a bit.

Quick question for people - I'm not going to get all of the Syrinscape updates (let alone the new releases) for the DOM: SoundLink Module done but the start of October. Would people like me to release (for October) what I have gotten done, or would people prefer me to hold off releasing until November (or God forbid, December)?

And rember, I haven't release a Library Edition since the start of August.

Since i'm kinda new to this platform, i haven`t already got your Soundlinks because there's no support for PFRPG2 yet. But as soon as it comes, i'll be getting mine... if that helps.
PS. I've recommended your library to a friend, though, (for SFRPG) and he's really happy with the result. Congratz

Hello everyone,

I've set up Syrinscape and Discord and the Banana VoiceMeeter properly. If I play syrinscape sounds directly in syrinscape desktop app, it will play them in discord just fine.
But what confuses me is that I got problems with the syrinscape volume control within voicemeeter. The volume stays on its level no matter how deep I'm reducing the "syrinscape" slider within voicemeeter. Currently I have only tested that with myself in the discord channel, so I'm not sure if it's the same for other channel members.

On another note which is weird that the "syrinscape" discord user is continually "green" so as if he was sending sound into the channel the whole time, even I'm not using syrinscape and the "voice-activation" is set to 0%.

Since the sounds within syrinscape are on a different "starting" volume, I actually need to adjust the volume. I could do that within syrinscape itself but with the slider in voicemeeter it would be more handy.

If anyone could help or give some advice that would be perfect!

Thanks in advance

Best regards

Hey. Its possible that you are actually bypassing vm and sending the output of syrinscape directly to discord. I'm happy to try to help but I would need to see screenshots of the following:

Windows defaults playback and recording devices
Discord voice settings
Voicemeeter

It might take me a bit as I'm in the office and traveling later today, but if you want to join my discord and post the above shots I'll see if I can help get you sorted..

Hey Gwydione!

Thanks for the fast reply. I'm on a german OS so I'm not sure how far that would help.

- The standard windows devices are (now) set to Voicemeeter Input/Output
- Main Discord : Input = microphone array, output = cable A input
- Syrinscape Discord (PTB) : Input = cable-b-output, Output = cable-A-Input

Voicemeeter settings:

Microphone = microphone array (only B1 highlighted)
Discord = cable A output (B1/A1 highlighted)
Syrinscape = cable B output (only B1 highlighted)

I'm using a 3rd discord instance as well but that doesn't makes a difference.

If you still need the pics I will pop them on your discord :)

Thanks again!

Gwydion
October 1st, 2019, 14:26
Ok. I think I see what is happening. Because the input to syrinscape PTB instrance is cable b output, that means you are actually connecting the output of syrinscape directly to discord. Think of it like a physical cable. You have attached the output to syrinscape and you have attached the other end of the cable to discord. The way you have it set up, you are NOT sending the output of syrinscape through voicemeeter and therefore your volume slider in the "syrinscape" column of voicemeeter isn't going to do anything and if you clicked on the "B1" in the syrinscape column of voicemeeter it shouldn't change a thing.

If you want to change your setup, I can help, but it isn't broken, it's just the way you have it set up.

I think I know what video you are referencing and you have it set up exactly how they describe it. However, the result of that setup is that you can't control the syrinscape volume from within voicemeeter. Are you using VM, VMB or VMP? (banana, potato)

Bethor

Gwydion

I have VM banana.

Ok. So I have to make some assumptions. I'm assuming you are streaming as you are selecting B1 in all your strips so I suspect B1 is what you are sending to OBS or whatever software you use to stream. So, one way to do what you are trying to do is as follows:

Change the Syrinscape PTB input to Voicemeter Aux Output (this is virtual output B2 fyi).
In the syrinscape column (input strip) of Voicemeeter, make sure B2 is selected (and B1 to send it to the stream).

If my memory is correct, this should have syrinscape playback through cable B which is connected to the third strip in VMB. You are then sending that sound to discord by selected B2 in that strip which you have selected as the input in discord for your PTB instance. You are selecting B1 as well so that the syrinscape sound coming through Voicemeeter also goes out to the stream.

Now when you change the VMB slider in your syrinscape strip, it should change the volume for you.

I think that should work for you but let me know if it doesnt.

Bethor

In my case its because I use Teamspeak, Skype, and Discord (not at the same time, obviously) and I like the convenience of simply clicking on a button (now that everything is set up) to switch my sound inputs and outputs around, from my main Dolby 7 Speakers when I'm (computer) gaming to my headphones and mike when I'm on Teamspeak to my Jabra speaker-Mic when I'm on Skype, etc, etc, etc. :)

Yap, it's quite Handy with so many outputs.

There's a lot stuff which is still not Wirkung correctly. I've tried WMP as the third instance for Backgrounds but once I start playing i.e. a campfire sound it starts just okay but after 10-15 sec the sound get's kinda distorted and almost silent. If I turn up the VM slider I can hear the sound but very "virtual".

And the different sound levels from the syrinscape App is also a bit of a problem. But I will figure something out.

Works OK for me (see screenshot below) - assuming you're referring to PFRPG (first edition).

Make sure you have both of the extensions enabled - you'll see them in chat window (see the screenshot below and verify you have those versions shown) and then you should see the sounds option at the top of the Library window.

Bethor, it sounds like maybe there is something going on in the setup. Happy to help if you want, just let me know. Also, just as an aside, the latest update to Voicemeeter Potato (I think you have to download from twitter or their facebook page), has a brickwall limiter on each strip. What that means is you can left click on the "volume" of a strip (or fader) and pull it down, you will see that it becomes highlighted. You can drag in down for the syrinscape strip for example and limit that output so that it will never go above say +5 db.

It isn't a perfect solution but it will make sure syrinscape never goes above a certain volume, even for the one-shot sounds.

The limiter would be a little workaround with the different sound levels of syrinscape, so I could scale it to 100% and limit it back to maybe 80% within VM. But I don't know if I keep using syrinscape for the ambience stuff and action sounds.

With the normal syrinscape player it's not possible to set favourites or build an new tab where I can "save" different sounds for certain campaigns. I will try and test it in the next weeks or so and see if it's ok or just annoying.
Yesterday I've played a few sounds and the players thought the monsters are burping haha XD

I will have a look at that potatoe VM nonetheless. Thanks again :)

You're correct on the normal player (which is the only one I use). I'm sure you know this, but you can create a custom campaign so that at least only the soundsets that you want to have available in your sessions are the only ones visible to you. That helps me a lot. Still not the same as being able to copy only individuals oneshot sounds, etc. , but it helps...

Hmm? o.o I haven't seen such an option within the normal Player. I will have another look at it. Thanks for the hint

Its not intuitive.. You need to go to the syrinscape website, login, click on "your campaigns" at the very top of the page and then make sure you select fantasy or scifi as you can't create a new campaign when you have "all" soundsets selected. Then type in a new and select new campaign. Then you can drag and drop soundsets to it. When you open your syrinscape player, you can click on the top left and pull up the campaign and then you will see only the soundsets you dropped to the campaign. Keep in mind in my experience sometimes it takes a bit for the syrinscape player to "catch up". Meaning, the campaign might not show up immediately in your player...

Yep. I have found it! And within the online player its possible to adjust the single soundparts. So I can manipulate the volume from the start.

Thanks a lot!

Hei hei and many thanks for the hard work of the creator and help of the users. I am new at this and I need some help please, because most of the tutorials I find can't help me because, a) I am VERY new at this and b) they are generally horrible.

I connected everything through teamspeak, changed to virtual cable before starting Syrinscape, then changed again to my headset, then connected to a server (and opened my Syrinscape bookmark in a new bookmark) but nothing happened. Now, I am totally noob when it comes to Teamspeak (which looks incredibly awful UI wise) and I have no idea where to go or what to do. I couldn't hear anything from Syrinscape, I couldn't connect to a server and nothing was happening. I managed to create a new sound by copy/pasting the syrinscape link and worked fine from withing FG, but only after restarting syrinscape with default output my headset.

Can someone please tell how can I stream the sound to my group? Can someone provide me with what to do in teamspeak? Is there any other program I can use beside that and tell me how? The instructions said that the procedure is the same with any other program like Skype but I don't understand where I'm supposed to change these things on Skype?

Hey Avalastrius. A lot of folks can help. I have a number of youtube videos on streaming sounds in FG. You can find me on youtube by searching for Lord Gwydion and Fantasy grounds. I'd post the link but I'm on a plane and can't access youtube. I have videos on using voicemeeter and using cleanfeed to stream sounds. I'm happy to help when I can if you want to join my discord channel. This link should still work: https://discord.gg/MCqjQek

I use discord for voice and cleanfeed to send sounds to players. I can help with teamspeak as well as I used to use it. Might just take me a bit to recall. I'm traveling today but if you post screenshots in my discord of the following I should be able to help:

Windows default playback/recording devices
Voicemeeter
Teamspeak audio settings (playback and recording) for any profiles you have set up (e.g. you and syrinscape)

Happy to try and help....

Oh, man. That was quick. I was able to make it work with Skype and Voicemeeter but it was a bit fiddly. Oh my god, it works amazing, totally transforms the game. I will (re) check your videos Gwydion and hopefully my noobness will improve.

Is cleanfeed easier to use? Please provide some help when you can.

Also, I have had some sound volume issues (too low for me, too high for my friend). Is there a trick to have a nice level or simply try to find some balance via windows mixer?

Again, thanks so much for the program. What a game changer it is. :)

I wouldn't say cleanfeed is necessarily easier to use, it all depends on your setup. If teamspeak is working well for you I'm a big fan of if it ain't broke......

The main reason I went to cleanfeed is I moved to discord for voice just because many folks in the groups I was involved with were using discord. For voice it was fine but I found the sound quality lacking when playing sound effects, music, etc.. So, I found cleanfeed (free solution too) and never looked back. I really like it. Like anything, just takes some getting used to and understanding how voicemeeter works so you send the right sound to cleanfeed. However, like I said if you have Teamspeak working and like it, I certainly am not here to recommend you change things.

If you hop in my discord sometime, I'm happy to pm you directly and help with whatever tweaking you need.

There are two products you might want to consider on the dmsguild.

The first is from the creator of the DOE Sounds extension himself, Dulux-Oz. I posted the link below and it comes out monthly. I suspect he will have September out shortly so you might wait for that one as it will be updated with the most recent syrinscape soundsets. This module is a great way to have all the syrinscape sounds loaded in fg, be able to search them, etc.

https://www.dmsguild.com/product/284307/DOM-SoundlinkLibrary-Module--August-2019

The second is a D&D5e product that Rob2e and I collaborated on with Dulux-Oz permission. It automates many sounds within FG such that when a word or string of words are posted in chat that tie to the automated sounds (e.g. "fireball"), the sound will go off automatically. You can find that one here:

https://www.dmsguild.com/product/214602/Fantasy-Grounds-Sounds

To be clear, you don't need either module, but I purchase Dulux-Oz's to support all the work he does and it makes it a lot easier to find sounds within FG. I use the one Rob and I created in my 5e games as its fun to have the sounds trigger automatically.

Hey, Avalastrius. The link I sent you to Dulux-Oz's module on the dmsguild. Summarizes all the soundpacks into categories to organize them into FG and makes them very easy to drag and drop into story entries or soundboards and to find them quickly. The links will only work for the sound packs you own within Syrinscape of course. So, if you click on the link for something you don't own or license then nothing will happen. To be clear, he updates the module for the new soundpacks each month and re-releases the module. I tend to purchase it once a quarter or so to support him. Given how much time and effort he has put into all his extensions for FG and release them for free, that is my way to support him.

The link I sent to the Rob/Gwydion/Dulux-Oz module on dmsguild is for a module that will automate many sounds if you at least have the fantasy subscription to Syrinscape. If you watch any of the Rob2e or my (Lord Gwydion on youtube) play sessions you will see how it works and hear sounds triggered.

Hope that helps! Again, you don't need either as you can create all your own and I have an old video showing how to setup sounds yourself on youtube if you want to go that right.

Happy Gaming!

Hi Guys.. I am not sure if this should be posted here or on the Sryinscape forum.

If I try and control the sounds within FG from the online player, I get the following message that opens up on my browser every time I try and play a sound and no music plays. It's fine if I play the sound directly from the Online Player. Any ideas? Also, it is really a pain having these Django browser windows open up every time I play a sound!

Yeah, as we've said many, many times before: Syrinscape Online **DOES NOT WORK** with the DOE:Sound.

Syrinscape Desktop does work with the DOE:Sound.

There is a 3rd Party App that does allow Syrinscape Online to work - but its a bit of a hack (as described by the programmer), and is *NOT* currently supported by me (the author of the DOE:Sound).

Everything you've expereinced is a direct result of how Syrinscape Online is different from how Syrinscape Desktop works.

So, TL: DR: Only Syrinscape Desktop works with the DOE:Sound and thus Fantasy Grounds. Whether this changes in when FGU comes out, or if Syrinscape "fix" Syrinscape Online, well, we'll see.

No, I don't expect people to read through 150+ posts :)

But I'm sure you can understand that people might get a tad frustrated answering the same question (granted, in different guises) over and over and over again :) Especially when its stated on the very first post in this thread :)

And don't get me wrong: I'm not blaming you - not when misleading information is provided by people on other forums - no matter how knowledgeable they seem, should, or claim to be :)

Hi Everyone,

Just a quick note to let you all know that the DOM SoundLink Library - a Module of all of the available Syrinscape SoundLinks pre-packaged as DOE: Sound SoundLinks - has just had this month's Edition (November 2019) put up on DM's Guild (here (https://www.dmsguild.com/product/293734/DOM-SoundlinkLibrary-Module--November-2019)).

This latest edition now has just short of 7000 Soundlinks from all 138 Sci-Fi Soundsets and 375 Fantasy Soundsets.

I've also updated the 39 SoundSets that Syrinscape made updates to over the last couple of months.

It's also the biggest set of new SoundLinks and SoundSets since the Library was released - and its still only $5. What better value can you find?

(It's also a great way to support all the work I do on the DOEs/DORs and all the other things I do for the Community. :) )

Note: You still need the Syrinscape Desktop App to use the Library as the Library only contains the SoundLinks, not the Syrinscape Sounds themselves. (This Library, along with the DOE:Sound Extension, does *NOT* work with the Syrinscape Online Player, only the Desktop App. Due to how the Syrinscape Desktop App works, the DOE:Sound Extension and hence this Library does not work on Macintosh computers).

Cheers

If I may add, I've been using a software called Soundpad. It's paid but it's really cheap ($5 I think), but you also can try a demo version for free. Basically what it does is playing the sounds directly through your mic, doing basically what voicemeeter do but in a way simpler way. Now I had to setup some windows shortcuts for it to work with doe sounds, but I find it an easy to setup alternative and haven't touched voicemeeter ever again. So you might want to check it out, maybe

Egheal

@DrOW That seems very interesting, setting virtual cables and voicemeter is hard and pretty unstable. It seems though that it only share sounds recorded into it, no pass through of sounds from WMP, TabletopAudio or direct DOE sounds or Syrinscape players. Does it allow a pass through ? If yes, could you please share your setup with Soundpad ? (how it work with Discord and what shortcuts are needed), in another thread off course. thanks anyway for sharing this software use.

Hi @menace,

Glad you like the DOEs (Dulux-Oz Extensions).

As it says in the DOE:Sound Manual, you add an existing SoundLink to another Sound/ChatSound/etc by dragging-&-dropping the existing SoundLink to the Chain Sound box.

Note: DO NOT create "rings" of Chain Sounds - you'll crash your computer (or send it into an infinite loop - same thing).

Hi All,

I've just published new versions of all the DOEs. These versions work with FGv3.3.8 & FGv3.3.9 (when it gets released).

Note: For the moment, these versions of the DOEs DO NOT WORK WITH FGU-Beta (for those of you in the FGU-Beta-test Program). For the moment, please feel free to use the (now) old versions of the DOEs. I'll be releaseing FGU-Compatible/Supported/Tested version when FGU is released.

Each new DOE version has been placed on the first Post of each relevant DOE Thread, as per normal.

I'll be updating the each DOE Maunuals (and the FG Wiki), plus the individual Ruleset Extensions Threads, over the next little while.

These DOEs, apart from having general updates, have the following modifications to them:

Added ColourGroups to all DOE Lists - Allows the player to give one of 7 coloured backgrounds (8 if you include "none") to the individual Entries in Lists. Used to visually group Entries together. Look for the Rainbow on all DOE List.
Fixed the Comma in Prices Issue in Buildings (Shops)
Caused Items weighing less than 1 unit to be recorded as 0 weight to stop the FG Engine's recording them as a long decimal in Buildings (Shops).
Fixed the Coin Label case Issue in Buildings (Shops).
Added ChatBox Message on character buy & sell in Buildings (Shops).

Thanks to Tim Cox for help in getting the last 4 of these done.

These DOEs now support:

CoreRPG
13th Age
D&D 2E
D&D 3.5E
D&D 4E
D&D 5E
Call Of Cthulhu 6E
Call Of Cthulhu 7E
Castles & Crusades - Needs a Graphic
Cypher Systems
Fate Core
Numenera
PFRPG
PFRPG2
SavageWorlds (SWADE) - Needs three Graphics
SFRPG - Needs Graphics
SWD
The Strange
The Dungeon, Simple Brown, Simple Grey, and Wood Themes across all supported Rulesets

These DOEs have had the following Rulesets depreciated and are no longer supported:

BoL
Dark Herasy
GURPS - may re-support in coming versions.
Maelstrom
MoreCore
WHFRP2

As per normal, if you find any bugs (these Extensions are provided "as is"), have any suggestions, etc, then please let me know by posting here for the relevant DOE and I'll get it fixed and released ASAP.

Enjoy

The DOM Soundlink (your first link) has links to all available sounds. You will have to set up the chatsounds yourself, but this module makes it easier as it has all the links ready for you.

The Fantasy Grounds Sounds (second link) has prebuilt chat sounds in it. But its designed for 5e. To make it work with PFRPG2 you would need to edit the module to allow that ruleset. Also, some/many/all of the chatsounds may not work properly as the triggers are designed for 5e and there may be differences in what they should be.

Also did I and the simple and martial weapons are already triggered. Also critical hits and fumbles. I guess it'll be preety funny when the players hear a witch laughing every time a fumble happens!

Magic will be tricky, though.
I'm not sure wich line will work better as a trigger... any clues?

Hi Everyone,

If you would like to report a Bug or make a Feature Request in relation to this DOE please do so in this Thread.

The best way to make a Bug Report and/or Feature Request is to follow these guidelines:

Please give your Post a Heading/Title of either “BUG Report” or “Feature Request” (eg. like the Title of this Post). Your Issue will then be assigned an Issue Number of the Post’s Post Number.
For Bug Reports, please include:

The Version of FG you are using
The Ruleset you are using
A List of all Extensions you have loaded, including any and all Version Numbers
Whether the Bug occurred on the GM's computer, the Player(s) computer, or both
Any Error Message(s) displayed (if any)
And as detailed a description of what you were doing when the Bug occured

For Feature Requests, please include as much detail about the Feature as you can.
Before making such a Bug Report or Feature Request Post, please look through this Thread to see if your Issue or Feature hasn’t already been posted. I'll periodically summarise the Bug Reports and the Feature Requests and their Status in a Post to this Thread.
If you have further information about a Bug or a Feature Request then you can make an addendum Bug Report or Feature Request by following these guidelines. Please add the original Bug Report or Feature Request Issue/Post Number to the end of your Post's Heading.
In an effort to keep the number of Posts in this Thread from being overwhelmed, please do not post “Me Too” Bug Reports or Feature Requests.

If you would like to contact me to obtain help, or for any other reason, please do so by Posting to this Thread (greatly preferred) or, if you require some privacy, to the Fantasy Grounds PM System (not preferred at all).

Note that posting to the Fantasy Grounds Forums will result in the fastest response, not just from me but also from other users of this DOE. I only check my PM Inbox every couple of days.

Good Day Dulux :)
Let me start with a Congrats on your improving health and I hope you keep feeling better every day :)

I noticed a few weeks ago that my DOE: Sound Autochat stopped working. I finally had to to chase it down today.

I am running FG Version 3.3.9
Running a 5E game.
No error messages are given to the system.
There appears to be a conflict with the Theme made by Damned names "The Coming of Night" I have disabled all other extensions except the DOE's and this one and it kills the Autochat.

Thanks for all the work you put into all your extensions!

In one of the previous updates, FG introduced the ability to drag/drop the banner images to the shortcut bar. I just noticed when I try it with the Sounds banner I get an error.

Script Error: [string "sounds"]:1: bad argument #2 to 'setShortcutData' (string expected, got nil)

Hmm, I never noticed that - let me look into it and I'll get it out in a new release,

Thanks Mattekure - I assume this is FG v3.3.9, CoreRPG, DOE:Base 4.0.1 and DOE:Sound 5.0.0?

Cheers

1. Why can't I export Setup?

2. Why can't I add sounds to Sounds?

Hey, brunocalado. I would recommend (if you haven't already) making sure to read the manual that Dulux-Oz has with the extension. Very helpful and explanatory. Once you have done that (or if you already have and still have questions), post back here and I'm sure we can help!

My recollection is that you can export the miniboards but not the actual setup tab. Why I'm not sure, I suspect it relates to the structure of the data but at least you can create and export the boards!

One can try to export them manually by copying&pasting their data in the campaign.xml, I did this several times; but maybe there is some oversight from my part? And only do this when you really know what you're doing (and make a backup before) :)

I got three campaign.xml to change and I prentend to share mod. I build the mod with a script who insert about 500 soundstrings. It's working on the chatsound, but it's ugly and bad to search because it stakes wich 5e Sounds.

Is it possible to just allow Sounds Setup to be exported?

Not with the FG export when I understood it correctly :)

Sound setup was always designed to be a short-term tool to create SoundLinks. They were never meant to be long-term and the recommendation is to delete them after using them to create the SoundLinks.

If people want to export Sounds to a Module, then export the SoundLinks, preferably on one or more MiniBoards (so that they'll work correctly). ChatSounds and AutoSounds should (from memory - mine) export OK to a Module.

And just to remind people: its not that the SoundLinks don't export OK, its that they don't import from a Module OK, unless you use a MiniBoard - hence one reason MiniBoards exists.

Of course, you could pick up the DOM:Soundlink Module from DM's Guild. Its got all the SoundLinks from all the SoundSets from both the Syrinscape Fantasy and Sci-Fi Players, ready to go straight from the Module or able to be dragged into a Campaign. $5, with a new edition release (almost) every month.

Is there any way to get this other than from DM's Guild? Presumably it works across different FG rulesets?

You have to build it yourself.

It works across all DOE:Sound supported Rulesets.

If you want to PayPal me US$5 I'll email a copy to you :)

Did anyone ever get this working with Discord without having to hijack the input for the Mic Channel? I know there was a thread some time ago regarding a Discord Bot, but it's been a year and I think that belly-up'd.

Edit: Nevermind, I figured out the issue

I am having trouble creating a chat trigger for critical hits in the PFRPG2 ruleset. I have tried; "[CRITICAL]" or "[DAMAGE (M)] Greatsword [CRITICAL]" as the triggers with no success. What am I missing?

Hi danbala,

My version of FG is 3.3.10. The issue is that I can't seem to use [CRITICAL] as a chat trigger. Other triggers work. For example. "[ATTACK (M)] Dwarven Waraxe (large)" plays a sounds. But "[DAMAGE (M)] Dwarven Waraxe (large) two handed [CRITICAL]" does not. I cant figure out why one expression works and the other doesn't.

Why would someone want discord vs teamspeak? What are advantages?

Discord is entirely free, doesnt require hosting and is better than Teamspeak in every way.

Myrdin Potter

The initial main advantages of discord over teamspeak is the built in chat and the ability to use it for free without hosting (teamspeak does have a free solution up to 32 people but requires running a server yoirself). Over time, discord has also added limited video capability which teamspeak does not have.

Teamspeak is easier to send sounds to and music quality tends to be higher than discord.

Discord is entirely free, doesnt require hosting and is better than Teamspeak in every way.

I prefer TeamSpeak for the following reasons:
-Local Server setup is free and easy
-Lightweight
-Better sound quality
-Better network connectivity

Discord is the most popular solution and has a slick interface. It's fine but I like clean programs that don't bloat up my computer.
