I am looking at trying to run a one shot adventure for just 1 friend. I would be GM and he'd be the PC. Are there any adventures made for FG for that situation or could any be run with just 1 PC?

If not, are there any published adventures you'd recommend trying? I could look at putting it into FG for us to try.

Thanks.

Taliz Silver Paws has a few "location adventures" over on rpgnow. They come with maps and tokens.
They are probably not really intended as an adventure in themselves but would suit I imagine.

Set your PCs character up a level or two higher as he/she is going solo and see what happens.
Dying gloriously is not such a bad end...

Solo adventures are tough to design. In part because it really depend upon what class the character is. I used to run a bunch using play-by-post back in the 3.0 days. Each one I had to setup with the character in mind. For instance, I could throw a few goblins or kobolds into melee with a fighter, but couldn't do the same with a wizard. You have to make sure that encounters allow characters to play to their strengths (at least most of the time) and when they don't, make sure the character has a way to win. (i.e. don't drop the ranged guy into a pit that is filled with a swarm of snakes unless he has burning hands or something).

Is their interest in solo adventures for 5E? I could see about putting a few together if their is.

There's nothing to stop your friend playing 2 or three characters. You could then run some of the smaller published adventures with slightly reduced NPC load.

Thanks for the replies. I figured if there were none designed with just 1 PC in mind, he could run a couple characters if needed.

LordEntrails, thanks. Not exactly solo adventures. We thought it would be a good way for us to learn 5E and how FG works. I have played a couple of FG games (not 5E) and have been a little lost as to how some things work. I figured we could kill 2 birds with 1 stone by me running him through a 5E adventure. I hope it will also help me become more comfortable with FG and also being a GM. Eventually I would branch out to more players, add my own adventures, etc.

Thanks again for the suggestions!

You could always convert some One Page Dungeons which could be manageable enough for a DM and a single player.

Here's some previous winners: https://www.onepagedungeon.info/2015/

Any of the Prepared! series of articles from Kobold Press by Jon Sawatsky (https://koboldpress.com/author/page/2/?authorname=Jon%20Sawatsky) could be nice too. Here's a favorite of mine, Prepared!: The Impregnable Fortress of Dib!

You could also try converting the old 2e challenge series. There'd be some tweaking to be sure, but they're in general designed as solo adventures for each of the 4 base archetypes.

I don't know why I was thinking of solo. The discussion was always one-shot.

It was both, actually--a one-shot adventure for the GM and one friend.

Thanks again, everyone. Lots of things for me to try now. :) Hopefully I will learn how to create my own adventures in FG.
