Is it possible to set up port forwarding for 1802 on a public network? I am currently deployed to SWA and I was hoping to run a game on FG3 in a couple weeks. Unfortunately port 1802 is not open and I can't figure out how to configure my settings so I can host a game. As mentioned in the post title, they provide wifi for us but it's via a public network and I don't have access to the router. Am I just plain boned until I come home?

I believe you can use Hamachi or another private VPN to allow you to play. See https://www.fantasygrounds.com/forums/showthread.php?20309-GM-Connection-Issues-Tried-Everything-Try-Hamachi&highlight=hamachi

Yeah Hamachi/Tunngle or a VPN like HideMyAss.com is your best bet.

I use Avast for a VPN so I'll have to see what to do about that when I get home.

Only a limited few VPN providers will give you access to the external IP and let you do port forwarding.
HideMyAss does - I dont know about Avast.

So bad news is, Avast does not support port-forwarding through VPN.

Good news is, I've got Hamachi up and running. If I understand correctly, the players simply connect to the IP address Hamachi generates instead of the usual server alias (e.g. dead tree drunk pirate). Or do they have to connect to my Hamachi server first and THEN join my game?

Hey DMDaddy0 the players will also need to use Hamachi and first connect to your network and then they can connect to the Hamachi IP address.
It should be in the instructions I wrote in that other post.

Yeah, I figured that out after I made the post earlier. Thanks for the help though, I appreciate it!

When you say deployed are you talking military? If so try and talk to some of the specialists in the network, if any are gamers they might have already have a solution?
