I am a demo user and I have tried to connect to the host through both her external IP and through the alias. I'm using Windows 10. The problems are:
Connecting through the IP gives me "Could not connect to the host. Check the address and try again." error.
Connecting through the alias fails softly. Checking the console log shows me:
[20.04.2016 10:27:55] Runtime Notice: Resolving alias
[20.04.2016 10:28:16] Network Warning: Unable to update host alias data - connecting to host
[20.04.2016 10:28:16] Script Error: [string "scripts/LauncherProperties.lua"]:171: bad argument #1 to 'startClient' (string expected, got boolean)
I know that the players do not need port 1802 open, but it open nonetheless. UPnP is also active. FantasyGrounds is added as an exception to the firewall. I have no problems connecting to the FantasyGrounds website. I am also able to verify store purchases and the updater is working fine. Others have had no trouble connecting to the DM, only I am stuck.
I am from India and have dynamic IP allocation from my ISPs.
Will I need to buy a license for the program to work? I would be very grateful for any help.
