On the Actions tab of the character sheet for a Gnome, I have added the following Effect (on Self):
ADVSAV: intelligence,wisdom,charisma,magic
When the character is added to the combat tracker the Effect doesn't automatically take effect. The player has to click the little Effect button on the Abilities tab of the character sheet.
If the DM adds an NPC to the character tracker, say a Deva which has various Self Effects (Resistances, Immunities) defined for it, the Effects show up immediately in the combat tracker.
Why the difference between PC and NPC? I would expect a difference if the Effect were transitional, but for one that never expires it seems as though FG should apply it for us.
(This probably sounds like a complaint, but it really is not meant that way, I actually wonder if I've missed something, done something wrong, in defining the Effect.)
BTW: the "magic" doesn't have any affect on the saving throws rolled, the advantage is applied to the saving throws of both magical an non-magical attacks. That's another issue, that I've resolved in my own head.
