Hi captainsinith you dont need to pay to host a game but if you want to do it with Fantasy Grounds you will need to buy a software license. The license is available on a subscription or an outright purchase.

Then the answer is YES I have to pay to host a game. Eh I have over 30,000 dollars in books in my library. I won't pay. I remember when this was free. FG turned into gluttons. I am not okay with that. Have fun!

Eeeeh... this has never been free, you know. And have fun with the "free" options out there. You know, the one's that gouge you. Sorry, but I don't get the glutton comment. I bought my licence over 5 years ago, and I've never had paid for any of the upgrades, that have made FG about 300% better over that timespan. All free.

No. Have fun!

As a retired writer you should obviously not have to pay for the work the people behind Fantasy Grounds do to let you run games across the Internet :bandit:

And for a "pro" you certainly know little about the current state of VTTs.

I can understand what captin is upset about!

Just like all the pioneer physicists that developed ALL of the core sciences behind the technologies that our world is based on... They NEVER have to pay for medical care, dental care, cell phones, cable tv, internet services etc. /s

I am closing this thread as it serves no purpose and is certainly not a request for help in any way.

Fantasy Grounds has never been a free product for the GM and I am very happy with the £30 I paid in 2005 for eleven years of gaming.

As has been suggested if you do not want to pay for Fantasy Grounds go and try the "free" alternatives.
