questions regarding re rolls from feat in 5e

I have a player who has taken a greater weapon feat that allows him to re roll 1 ' s on damage rolls. Forgive my inexperience, but is there a way to for fg to automatically re roll damage rolls on 1 ' s per the feat for the character, or will I manually need to add the HP back to creatures lost on 1 ' s and have player re roll damage, which will feel really cumbersome after a while. Thanks

It's the Great Weapon Fighting style for fighters that says "When you roll a 1 or 2 on a damage die, you can reroll and must take the new roll.
