Everyone brings their laptop
fires up FG and starts playing
We have a store here around here that would let you do it (they charge by the table)

Anyone ever do it?
Any stores more supportive than others? (non gaming type stores)
Does it play fast this way? DM'ing in FG seems so much easier...

Do you need a network?

FG is so handy dealing with all of the nitty gritty work, no setup time, and only having to cart around your laptop is a big plus

You do need a network, I am unsure if you would need the store to open port 1802 since it would all be internal to the network.

forgot about that, I doubt they would do that for you in my experience

If everyone is within the store and using the store's network you won't need port 1802 opening - this is only needed if people are connecting over the internet from outside of the store.

You may have issues depending on how the store network is setup. For example, you'll have issues if it is setup as a guest network without access to other devices on the local network. You're best discussing with your FLGS.

But, it is possible for everyone to play locally - depending on what FG license everyone has of course...
