recently i've been having trouble keeping characters in my PC tab. i build him up fully from scratch with all of the Dragon's Heads for quick reference. once i'm done and exit Fantasy Grounds and re-launch, the character is completely gone. please help

Hey CaptainArcana. This is most likely one of two reasons.
1. You are using a demo client - double check your license is in the right field. Or if you are not using a license (but I think you are because of the dragon heads) your characters will only save in Manage Characters - not in the Campaigns section.
2. Your permissions are wrong on your data folder. However if this is the case you should be getting console warnings about not being able to save.

please help me. i've been trying to find the cause and solution to this problem all day. my brain is frazzled now. if you can help, please give step by step instructions. thanks!!
i've tried deleting every file i can find and then update but it doesn't fix the problem

I may have answered you via email already, but just in case...
This normally means that you have a permission issue writing to that folder on your disk. You have a few options you might try:
1. Run Fantasy Grounds as an Administrator
2. Change the permissions to allow your default user account to write to C:/ProgramData/Fantasy Grounds
3. Update your Settings for FG and change the Data Directory to an alternate path where you have sufficient privileges and then re-run a Check for Updates.
