Hi All

I wrote this ages ago and Moon Wizard converted the original to PDF. I have just got around to revising it to correct a few errors and hope it is useful.

The system for turning the undead in 3.5e is more complex than Pathfinder or 5e. This guide shows how you can use custom tables and actions to take some of the work out of it. (No programming is needed, but it does assume you know how to create a custom table.)

In game the process will run as follows:

1. Player casts Turning and records the cast (informational only)
2. Player rolls the Turning check. This decides the most powerful creature that can be turned (Turning Check Max HD)
3. Player rolls Turning Damage DMG, this gives the total HD that can be turned
4. GM calculates which creatures are turned:

Ignore the creatures with HD > the Turning Check Max HD
Include lesser creatures until the total available HD has been allocated

(Unfortunately the calculation step is entirely manual - automating it would require an extension and db changes to define the monsters HD.)

5. Player or GM applies the Turning effect to the affected creatures

Hope its helpful, and let me know of any errors or omissions.
