Some background:

Hi! I'm a long time gamer (20+ years) and after 'saving the kingdom/world' in so many games over the years, when I first ran into the game "Way of the Wicked" (a great evil pathfinder AP if you're not familiar with it), I loved it. I finally got to unleash my inner super villain and it was good fun. ;) I tried being a player but sadly the local group fell apart and I had no luck finding another nearby to run it. My real enjoyment was being a player in that ap but I enjoyed the ap so much I ended up running it with some friends in the area. We had a blast but sadly after a year or so the group I ran fizzled out. As it turns out my other FG Sunday Kingmaker game seems on permanent hiatus too. As such I find myself presently 'gameless'.

Well as it turns out a gamer friend of mine just clued me in on this new evil Piazo ap "The Hellfire Compact (https://paizo.com/products/btpy9j6n/reviews?Pathfinder-Adventure-Path-103-The-Hellfire-Compact)" (Hell's Vengeance 1 of 6) and it sounds like a blast! I'd be able to break out my inner super villian once again and am very excited at the prospect. ;)

As such, while I know I'm being very 'specific' with my request here, I'm hoping I'll get lucky and find a good DM and other mature players who would want to play this new evil ap with me. :D

License: I have the free one but if someone's gonna run this and I need the pay one, I'll get it.
Voice: I do use voicechat
Time zone: EST
FG experience: I've played a Kingmaker campaign in FG for awhile with FG. I'm no expert but I got the basics down pretty much.
I can play: Sundays work best for me but I could do every other Wednesday 5:30-10pm or so. I could do every other Sunday or maybe every Sunday (I can likely make 4/5 of Sunday games on average if we played every single Sunday).

About me: I like both combat and role playing (maybe 50/50 each). I tend to play social 'face' type characters who tend to think tactically and smart (usually casters but I mix it up sometimes). As for group dynamics, I like to 'add' to a group and I love it when a group works well as a team and respects each other (read no, I don't like group pvp). Also while I like making powerful characters and power game a bit, the goal as I see it is everyone has fun playing so I'm respectful if others aren't (that is I'm not the 'min-max to the Nth degree game breaking' type).

Note: If I find a DM who can do Sundays, I can likely find a some of my friends who have been itching for a game like this to join as well.

In any case, if you've read this far, thank you for your time. :)

All Hell Breaks Loose!

The Hell's Vengeance Adventure Path begins with "The Hellfire Compact," an exciting new adventure in which the players take the roles of evil characters in the diabolical empire of Cheliax! A paladin of Iomedae and knight-errant of the Glorious Reclamation comes to the town of Longacre, inspiring the citizens to join the uprising against the Thrice-Damned House of Thrune. First as amoral mercenaries, then as retainers of the wicked archbaron of Longacre, the evil adventurers must move quickly to put down the insurgency and keep the town from falling to the knight's rebellion.

This volume of Pathfinder Adventure Path launches the Hell's Vengeance Adventure Path and includes:

"The Hellfire Compact," a Pathfinder adventure for 1st-level characters, by F. Wesley Schneider.
A gazetteer of Longacre, the small town in Cheliax that serves as the setting for this adventure, by F. Wesley Schneider.
Details on the Glorious Reclamation, a knightly order dedicated to Iomedae that sparks the events of this campaign, by Rob McCreary.
Magical mayhem and ill tidings from afar in the Pathfinder's Journal, by Josh Vogt.
A bestiary of frightful new monsters, by Paris Crenshaw, Mikko Kallio, and Jason Keeley.

Hello,

I'd love to get into an evil campaign like this. I have the ultimate but I'm not familiar with Pathfinder and as such would be interested in playing but not DM'ing, not sure if that helps, ha.

Hello everyone this is my first post here, but I'm a long time (20+ years) friend/groupmate of ryeookin's... G.U.R.P.S., AD&D 2nd ed., Battletech we used to play all that stuff back in the day, and most recently the WotW and Kingmaker Pathfinder campaigns. I'm a member of Jeff Ibach's NJ based PFS gaming community the Mount Holly Marauders and I've also dabbled in authoring a G1 Transformers gaming system and a The Walking Dead module for Pathfinder. Anyway yeah, ryeookin count me in! Like we had discussed earlier I'm open to joining you on Wednesday evenings or late night on Sundays. I think I speak for both of us when I say we're looking for a good stable group to play with and we plan to have a lot of fun with this new Paizo AP. Counting Vespa it looks like we possibly have a group of 3 so far. I hope a DM joins us soon.

Personally as a player I'm big on spontaneous casters divine and arcane also hybrid melee classes. I love the "arms race" of power gaming and optimization, but I also enjoy the challenge of rping a flavor based character. I'm basically down for whatever the game calls for. I've got the mumble server for our FG games too.

I don't know what happened to my original that should be at the top of this thread. I edited it and it deleted. I'm certain I didn't click on "delete" or anything like that.. not sure why it disappeared. :(

The post was flagged for moderation due to it containing links and you only having a low number of posts on the forum. I've approved it. A couple more posts and this won't happen, but until you've posted a few more times try to avoid editing posts with links/@ signs in them if you want them to be available immediately.

I'd like to play this, as a player, if someone steps up to run it. I'm making plans for DM'ing something I have in mind, but guessing this one really wants an expereinced PF DM to run.
To wit... I've had hardcopies of the PF rulebook(s, Core and Advanced x and Ultimate x etc) plus some extras, for a few years now, but I have no practical PF experience yet even as a player. Hoping to rectify that.
I have played about a dozen 5E games on FG in the past 5 weeks or so. Before that we go back to the 1970's and 0e/Basic/1st.
"Way of the Wicked" which you mention sounds like an interesting campaign, must have been fun for your group, and it looks like Fire Mountain has a new one "Throne of Night".

Hey all,

I'm hoping we have overlap. I can play Sundays or Wednesday evenings (post 5pm EST) are options for me. What day's work for you guys/gals?
I thought if I got this organized it might attract a DM. ;)

AT IrishBouzouki
Yeah I'm hoping we'll find an experienced PF DM who wants to run this, we'll see though *crosses fingers* :)
To be clear, if we find a DM even though you're new to PF, you're an experienced gamer. I'd be happy to game with ya in this. :)
Also yeah "Throne of Night" sounds like it would be fun too.

I will tentatively throw my hat in the ring to GM this on Sunday evenings. The caveat to all this is the PDF isn't being released until 2/24, at which point I will pick up the first book and read through it. GMing an evil campaign is tricky and I want to see how the AP is being written before fully committing to run it.

If I do end up running it, the most likely time would be Sunday evenings, 6pm PST/9PM EST. The session length will depend on the players. I can go until 11pm PST/2am EST, but 10pm PST is probably more reasonable.

If I do decide to run it I will post again here and put up a calendar entry, but I'm guessing it wouldn't start until mid/late March at the earliest to give me time to prep.

Thanks Darrenan! That sounds very reasonable. I'll admit I've been sold on the sizzle not the steak so to speak (as I haven't seen the players guide yet either). Hopefully the AP is well written and enjoyable for all.

My only caveat is the time you proposed. Unfortunately, I need to call it a night at 8pm PST your time (I need to go to bed at 11pm my time too). This might not be an issue for other players but it would be for me personally. If you do end up running this, I'm hoping you could run it earlier. If not, and it works for everyone else then indeed play with out me. I'll hunt for another group that can play the times I'm available. In either case, thanks for considering it. :)

If it ends up that the juice is worth the squeeze I could do 9pm-1am est. on Sundays.

I'm good for late night every other Sunday or every other Wednesday after 5PM. I really do hope we can find a game time that matches with ryeookin's schedule though.

Thanks Goblinshark. Yeah hopefully it'll work out, we'll see.

In any case, to make it easier for a prospective DM, here are the potential players availability listed together thus far:

Ryeookin: Wednesday 5:30-10PM EST is doable also I can do Sundays day to evening but I have work the next morn so I need to quit at 11pm EST Sunday nights.
Goblinshark: "I'm good for late night every other Sunday or every other Wednesday after 5PM. I really do hope we can find a game time that matches with ryeookin's schedule though."
Vespa: "I could do 9pm-1am est. on Sundays."
IrishBouzouki: "I am free Sunday evenings, easier for me if it cuts off before zero-dark-thirty on the East coast though."
Lucian: Any time

Also note: when the players guide becomes available this week, I'll be posting the link to it in here unless someone beats me to it. :)

So it sounds like 5pm-8pm PST/8pm-11pm EST will be the time slot. That should work for Ryeookin, IrishBouzouki and Lucian. Not sure about Goblinshark and Vespa. I'll give these guys the first shot since they were active in this thread. Please go create an account on obsidianportal.com and then send a quick message to me (rhythmist is my username over there) and I'll add you to the campaign I'm creating. Once you get in you can peruse the character creation rules in the wiki, create character entries, and use the forums to discuss party composition.

We can shoot for having a character creation session either this Sunday or next, but I'm not planning on having the first game session until 3/13 at the earliest. I'll post a calendar entry on obsidianportal when I feel like I'm prepared enough.

Let's be Evil!

I'd be game to play as well. I was very intrigued when I saw the campaign on Paizo. I host a game at 1300PST on Sundays, but I don't foresee that ever going past 1500PST. :) I'll be watching the post so if you have room for me, please let me know.

@gingerpanda You're first alternate. We currently have three, waiting to hear back from the other two. I would really rather go with five players, than six, as the AP is designed for four.

As for getting the player's guide, I'm not having any luck. Looks like Paizo is having issues. :p

To our new 'evil' teammate, welcome aboard!
Your evil club card will be in the mail ;)

Hello,

I would like to join the waiting list to play with you guys.

License: I have a Fantasy Ground Ultimate license.
Voice: I do use voice chat, Mumble, google Voice, whatevers clever.
Time zone: EST
FG experience: I GM'd the Kingmaker campaign in FG that Ryeookin is refering to. I'm also no expert and a little out of practice.
I can play: Weekends and Weeknights

About me: I go back and forth between favoring combat or role playing, I guess it depends on the type of game the GM runs. I like to play Strikers or Wizards. Basically, I either want to be a Boss killer or a Battlefield Control specialist. Group dynamics, hmm I try to be pretty malleable and go with the flow, I didn't even know PvP is something ppl do in D&D/Pathfinder. I agree with Ryeookin about characters, it is fun to play a powerful one, but not to play a game breaking one.
