If you cast Fear on a barbarian and the barbarian fails his save, can the barbarian rage on his turn to negate being frightened or must he make a saving throw out of the line of sight of the caster?

I'd suggest the condition (frightened) would take precedence so he would have to make his save before he could gather his wits enough to Rage. However Sage Advice might be a more appropriate avenue to pursue for a more 'official' answer.

Mindless Rage from the PHB, page 49. Beginning at 6th level, you can’t be charmed or frightened while raging. If you are charmed or frightened when you enter your rage, the effect is suspended for the duration of the rage.

Guess the Barbarian can rage out of the Frightened or Charmed effect.

Guess the Barbarian can rage out of the Frightened or Charmed effect.

From 6th level indeed it would appear so.
