Hey folks.
I've been meticulously reading through The Angry GM's blog posts, especially on actions, encounters and adventures. He has some radical, but very rational ideas, about how to run RPGs.

Anyone implemented his ideas? I'm interested in hearing the positives or negatives that have resulted.
Thanks!

I've read a bunch of his stuff, some great ideas. Only one I've tried so far specifically was the Speed Factor thing which, with the help from Trenloe's extension, went.. kinda well. Ended up being too different and my players wanted to go back to the normal way though.

So far I've only read his thoughts regarding passive skills (https://theangrygm.com/ask-angry-passive-skills-active-skills-perception-and-knowledge/). I found his perspective helpful. I have friends who have read more of his stuff and generally benefit from his articles.

While I find some of his ideas on par with mine, I can't say that I have really gone out of my way to incorporate many of his thoughts into my games. Another site that I do like (especially his random tables) is Elfmaids & Octopi (https://elfmaidsandoctopi.blogspot.com/)
Oops, my spelling is awful.

The Angry GM goes to my game store Legendary Realms Games. Played in one of his games during free-rpg day.
I do emulate his style in terms of the iron-fisted GM style; good advice overall from a veteran in the field.

Wow. Really interesting to see what each of you are taking away from his stuff... because I've gleaned other things.
The thing that resonated with me is a structure or formulaic way to build encounters. I've been rebuilding a one-shot this week using his approaches. I have to say that I think it is some of the most creative... and logical... and challenging... stuff I have ever created. Maybe that isn't saying a lot. But I've been really pleased.
I kind ignore the iron-fisted style and confrontational mode stuff. I just take what I find most valuable.
But I will say this, while I'm getting a lot of value, it is a serious investment of time. His articles are up to 10,000 words. Good. But REALLY long.
