So I want to run the Carrion Crown Adventure Path for a group of 4 friends. I'm getting confused about what I need to get to be able to run the game and have the resources available to all of my players. Can you guys give suggestions on what I need to purchase and what mods I should use?

Hey Rapier. Welcome to Fantasy Grounds :)

The Pathfinder ruleset is included in the base application so you will need something like this to start with:
a. The GM purchases an Ultimate License or takes out an Ultimate Subscription.
or
b. Each person (player and GM) purchases or takes out a Full subscription

There are quite a few Pathfinder SRD resources around. All the monsters, classes, spells, equipment etc.

Unfortunately there is no licensing agreement with Paizo so there are no Paizo APs available for purchase.

There is some legal sharing of PFS sanctioned materials if you provide proof of purchase.

So you would need to import the maps and some of the NPCs at the least to run this AP on Fantasy Grounds. You can read all the descriptive text straight from the PDF/Paperback as you would around the table. It is not necessary to enter it all into the system.

Unless you do a text only game. Then you would need to input a lot more stuff. But, once you get good at entering the data from the source and using the tools made by the community (Creature Parser (https://www.fantasygrounds.com/forums/showthread.php?20522-Pathfinder-Creature-Parser-V2-Beta-Version) and Map Align (https://www.fantasygrounds.com/forums/showthread.php?19813-Map-Align-Utility-to-scale-and-align-map-to-grid)) and the other modules (https://www.fantasygrounds.com/forums/showthread.php?16074-List-of-Modules) and extensions (https://www.fantasygrounds.com/forums/showthread.php?15925-List-of-Extensions) that have been created already, the process goes pretty quickly. I believe I am down to about two hours to convert a book from an adventure path for use in a text only game. That could be a lot less if you are doing a voice only game.

I personally use a bunch of different mods in my games, pretty much the entire list in the modules section, the effects library, and a bunch of different extensions depending on the game I am running. The player effect removal extension is pretty much a requirement nowadays, so that probably would be the only required extension. Just take a look at things you might need and cherry pick from there.

Thanks everyone. I've been looking at FG for a few days now and I haven't tried the demo yet. I was just trying to get a feel for it before I took the plunge. I think the best thing for me to do is download the demo and see how all this information comes together. It may not be as complicated a it's sounding to me right now. LOL
