Greetings!

Is it possible to pass GM control to another player?

Or does the server host ALWAYS have to be the GM?

Thanks in advance,

-T

Welcome to the community!

Copy and send the campaign folder to the new GM. They will have to have the source modules for said campaign though. (ie 5e PHB, MM, etc.)

I think the answer you seek is yes the DM is always the server host. Whoever hosts is the DM. As Nylfans says it is possible to cycle the DM provided everyone has the necessary rulebooks. If you are only using the free stuff that comes with FG then that isn't a problem. But you cant share things like the PHB, DMG or indeed any of the published adventures.

And welcome from me too.

Don't forget licensing. If you are using an Ultimate license rather than everyone having there own, then the ultimate license holder has to (I think) be the host/GM.

I do think it'd be useful to have the ability to give GM power to connected users, but I don't think that is possible, at this time.

It's typically more cost effective for group with several or round robin DM's to get the standard license instead of the ultimate license.
