Good evening.

Keep in mind that I am still new at this :)

I have Fantasy Grounds Ultimate. I want to run a second copy for my players to see a map during our pen and paper D&D sessions (I am also writing a story for traditional FG use)

I decided to test out using a second instance of FG. When I am on the load screen and I hit "run test", the connection fails. The tool tip says that I need to configure my firewall to accept or forward connections on 1802.

So I did that (I have a Time Warner modem, TG1672. I created a virtual connection and used the internal IP address. But I still cannot connect.

I feel I am missing something here (obviously...lol). So what did I do wrong, or what didn't I do?

Thanks guys!

Try localhost as what you are connecting to.

Hi Outsider418.

When connecting to a remote GM you use their FG alias or their WAN/Public IP Address.
When connecting to a GM on the same network as you use their Internal/LAN IP Address
When connecting to a GM instance on the same computer use the special localhost address as JohnD says.
