Dungeon World One Shot - Saturday 23rd January [Archive]

This will be a One Shot adventure.
I will be running a 4hour adventure using the Dungeon World RPG system.
This game will be story and character driven.
This game is open to players new to Fantasy Grounds, new to Dungeon World and even new to Role Playing Games.
All players are welcome - but I want you to check and double check the time as this game runs very early in the morning for US based players.
I will run for up to 6 players and will still run with only 2 players.

Welcome tigarth make sure you check the time - its probably very early for you.
Its a less mechanical game than D&D but fantasy swords and sorcery none the less.

I also have no experience with Dungeon World and it's been a long time since I have been part of a tabletop style rpg, but would love to learn and get back into it. Thanks for letting me know about it.

No problem with 6:30am USA Eastern I am up earlier than that anyhow (life on the farm).
I'd like one of the pre-gens, the barbarian, the fighter or the wizard. Although I have not looked at the sheets yet I am sure they will be fine.
I've never played this system before. Happy to give it a whirl as a one-shot and see what it is like.

Omigosh, I lied. I just saw the thief's name can be Mouse.!!! The thief please :)
This is terrible. Seriously terrible. I keep reading through the character moves and thinking "I must have this one!" So I'll say this, I will happily play any of the following in order of preference: The cleric, the Thief, or the ranger :)

It's 6:30 am my time but that's okay, I need to get my fix. :)

Hola Squeekit youcan play the Cleric (or the Thief or whatever) but you must remember its a one shot so the cleric isnt just a walking medi-kit.
Ive also given them different names but you can change them once you grab your character :)

And to everyone else - ignore Mask_of_winter - he has never even played a game with me!

Whyever ignore Mask, he speaks the truth, and I HAVE sat at your table, twice for Dungeon World and you are all in for a treat, this is the closest in RPG I have seen to how theater improv works, and if not for the ghastly hour I would sign up again myself. (Watch out for that bloody snake).

I would like to join..... the characters are a higher level than the last session I was in so I would love to see the effect on the game.... I am interested in wizard if no one has claimed that character.

I enabled javascript and everything, just that the download button on the dropbox page does not actually start a download or do anything else that I can tell.

(edit - Firefox 43.0.4 on Win7, no dropbox acct, if any of that might matter)

I had never heard of Dungeon World before this, but it looks like fun. If there's still an opening, I'd love to give it a shot. Normally I'd be sleeping at 3:30 am on a Saturday, but it's a small sacrifice to the role playing gods. I'd prefer to play the Bard the most and Barbarian the least.

https://www.book.dwgazetteer.com/moves_discussion.html might work better if the dropbox links aren't working for you, you just have to click on the Classes tab for the various class information. I haven't checked out https://www.dungeonworldsrd.com/ much but it also looks like a good resource.

Ive got pregens for 6 classes - Cleric, Bard, Barbarian, Fighter, Wizard, Thief. If you desperately want to build your own you can download this char: https://www.fantasygrounds.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=10840&d=1441033494 and this extension: https://www.fantasygrounds.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=9382&d=1426684653 and start a new CoreRPG Campaign with the MoreCore extension enabled.
Then import the character and update it to your new one - change class, stats, moves, abilities, equipment and then export and send to me.
Sound like too much work? Stick with the pre-gens! The pre-gens will be a per the play sheets and if you dont like a move or a spell Ive given you by all means swap them over!

Nice, but I don't see the bloody snake. Good to see a full house though for Dungeon World, I hope eventually enough find it fun to get a regular campaign going I could join.

It was great fun, and it was probably actually even more fun because of all the ways things kept going slightly wrong! Made for a great story. damned did a great job handling the chaos we made out of his scenario. And everyone made it into a great game, thanks all.

Didn't realize you guys could hear my mic cord when I moved my head while talking, will try to do something about that (fourth FG game and the headset is just for FG, still working on debugging my setup).

Hey all - most of you were new to FG and some to RPGs - thanks all for playing again.
Please dont feel liek you have to stay with what you know in terms of game systems and genres.
If you see a Savage Worlds or a Cthulhu or a Warhammer or Top Secret or Castles & Crusades or whatever game - give it a go.
Its you guys that make the story and make it fun.
5e is awesome on Fantasy Grounds but so are lots of other game systems

disclaimer: Im playing in a 5e game - I have nothing against 5e!

Defeating the good elves who sought only to protect the gem from the hands of megalomaniacs is the first step in the path to conquest and domination!
Those under the influence of the gem are immune to mind control spells (sleep/charm/hold) and the holder immune to all direct magical attacks....
