I bought Fantasy Grounds from Turkey. But i have a font problem. I couldn't use these turkish characters (ş, ı, ğ) in FG. How can i fix that?:confused::confused:

Hi ondercanergumus; welcome to FG and the community.

I'm not an expert in such matters but I don't believe that there is much you can do to change the font that is used by FG. I know that there have been problems getting it to print out certain other characters as well. I believe it is a limitation of the architecture that FG is currently based on and therefore that limits the fonts that it can use.

However I am probably talking rubbish, but I have a sneaking suspicion that you are out of luck unfortunately.

Zacc's right - the engine that FG is built on is over 10 years old (I beleive) and doesn't handle anything but the "standard" english characters Code page 800-something - I can't remember the correct number).

The new Unity-based FG should be able to handle the international characters, but its a few month off yet.

The other option that may help is the LPak Project - check out the FG Wiki for the link

The FG engine currently only supports ISO-8859-1 encoding.

They aren't packaged as a .ext file. It might be nice if they were - makes it much easier to download and install for all involved.

That link won't help you at this time. The author of the font would need to package up his files into an extension that could then be installed into FG. Once that is done then the instructions linked will make more sense.

So no hope for turkish. Again.... Thanks anyway.

The author has created a .ext file, it's just not super obvious where it is.

Click the "Downloads are under the Releases Section" link, which will take you here: https://github.com/alperozisik/fantasygrounds-turkish-font/releases Then download Turkish.ext and install as normal (copy to your <FG app data>\extensions directory).

Unfortunately, as Trenloe says, the files from Morfil haven't been converted into an extension. So they have to be created/loaded manually. And I'm not sure how to do that :(

Hopefully someone else can jump in here and eitehr make these into an extension or give you clear instructions on how to do it yourself. Sorry I don't know what you need.

EDIT: missed the above replies somehow, ignore what I said!
