Hell everyone. i am new to FG and was wanting to play a bit this morning. 01/06/16 how would i do this? Just wait for a DM to create a game and see if they except me?

IS there a chat room where people can link up and start a campaign?

Thanks
Sal

Hi Salcashman and welcome.
RPGs tend to be a bit more pre-planned than that - usually you organise a date in advance and often games going for many sessions sometimes lasting years.
Sometimes pickup games happen.
Most games that are recruiting are organised here in the forums.
I suggest you browse the other recent posts in the LFG forum and post on any that meet your availability and other preferences. Most games will be looking for a regular commitment - same day/time every week or fortnight or month.
This coming weekend there are 5 one shot games running that all have room for another player and are all new player friendly.
You would need to express your interest in the Calendar and preferably also in the Game thread.

Hey there Sal, welcome to the community, you will meet a lot of incredibly nice and helpful people here. I won't repeat Damned's comments, he is far more experienced than I am, but I will encourage you to take a look at the one shot sessions available this Saturday. I'd love to have you join mine, but if historical fantasy isn't your cup of tea all the games running this time I would recommend to anyone. I was new here a little over a year ago, and cannot stress enough of the advantage of joining one shots, browsing the forums and contacting GM's as soon as you see something posted you are interested in, what the business world calls networking essentially. It does work, I started last November, currently I juggle 9 regular games and the one shots and such when I have my calendar open.
