View Full Version : Token Facing and Locked Tokens on a Battlemap

I notice that when I'm using token facing, and don't have tokens locked on a map, my players can change their own facing. This is what I want and would think is appropriate.

As soon as I lock the tokens, players loose the ability to change their facing, meaning that in addition to approving moves, I have to ask them which direction they want to face after the move, and make that change as well. This is a little counter intuitive to me.

I would think, the time that token facing is the most important is in a combat situation, which is also the time a GM is most likely to have locked the tokens.

I see this in the 5E and C&C rulesets, but assume it is standard across the rest as well.

Any chance this can be made into yet another option for the GM to choose?

This is would be helpful in my GURPS game as well.

Perhaps this is something to add to the list here (https://fg2app.idea.informer.com/).

The way I handle it in my games is that the tokens face whatever opponent they last engaged until they engage another or explicitly tell me they are turning.
