View Full Version : Errors since latest update

I have had numerous errors while running games that seem to have been going on since the latest update. I get them when folks choose their PCs, when I drop tokens that are not in the combat tracker onto the map, and a few other times I am trying to recall.

You will need your player(s) to nuke their cache...

So I had them nuke their cache "made that part of my MOTD" and now I get a crash about once an hour. FG will simply shut down or stop responding resulting in a crash.

What ruleset are you using? What versions do they report in the chat window when you load up the campaign - there could be two rulesets listed, the main one and the underlying CoreRPG ruleset. What versions do they report?

Are you running any extensions?

What modules do you have loaded? Which ones are shared with the players?

I have attached a picture of my load up window in the campaign. The only extensions I am running are the MOTD and the GM Icon, both of which I have now disabled. The only modules I have loaded are the core rule books and the adventure I am playing. I will report back after a few sessions with those extensions disabled and will see how it goes.

Still having MAJOR issues when running FG and folks are connected... even after having them dump their cache. I finally had the brains enough to click the "copy to clipboard" option on the debug. The location where it looks for tokens I went into those folders and verified that they are present. Attached the full copy/paste

Have you got "D&D Out of the Abyss" loaded?
Do you perhaps have an office D&D Out of the Abyss and a copy you made yourself loaded?

Have you tried this -

Close FG. Backup your db.xml
Launch FG + Campaign
Move db.xml to another location
hit /save in chat
Flush players cache

That appears to have done the trick so far. Should I go into all of the campaigns that players connect to me on and delete the db.xml and force a save? Also, what is the safest way to get their pcs back?

No - I wouldnt. I would only do this where you are having an issue. Always, always, always take a backup first.

I have a backup of the db before I deleted it. Since the db was deleleted their PCs were obviously removed. Can I move the old db back in? Feel free to shoot me a PM on FB if ya like. https://www.facebook.com/jerniganc

you can try backing this campaign up again.
then replace it with your specific backup from above.
load FG + Campaign and move the db.xml and hit /save and then have players flush cache again...

players are all stored in the db.xml so Im not sure how you are describing their loss....?

I see what you mean now. I moved the db.dml with FG closed. I put the backup back into the campaign folder. Opened FG then the campaign, moved the db.dml out and did a /save creating the new db.xml. Will update this post and let you know how it goes.
