View Full Version : ERROR Message when Updating

I am trying to update with the updater 3.1.5 and it all of a sudden is giving me an error:

ERROR - GetProducts: Network: connecting to host
Retrying in 10 seconds
Getting packages from FG server

This continues to repeat itself and has been like this for several weeks. I'm not sure what to do at this point as everything has been working fine up until this issue.

Please try running FantasyGrounds.exe as Administrator.
Also try running the FantasyGroundsUpdater.exe as Administrator directly.

Please try running FantasyGrounds.exe as Administrator.
Also try running the FantasyGroundsUpdater.exe as Administrator directly.

Neither worked. Same issue.

Norton 360?
Is your License Key in the Correct License Spot?

Yes on Norton 360. I've always had Norton 360 and it has always worked with FG.

My license key is in the same spot it has always been.

I've had this computer for close to four years. Everything has worked up until this latest patch that i can' seem to download from the server.

I sometimes get this and I temporarily disable my anti virus and it goes through.

I believe you however Fantasy Grounds isnt the only thing on your computer that is changing. Your windows does updates, java does updates, drivers do updates, other programs do updates and AV does updates.

I figured it out. For some reason it was set to be "blocked" by Norton 360 firewall. Which is weird, the only time I touch these settings is to allow programs that I trust and this one has always been working.

Thank you all for pointing me in the right direction.

Jay, thanks for your post - I was just about 3 minutes from backing up my campaign files and doing a reinstall. Same here, no idea why the firewall decided to start blocking updaterengine.exe. Go figure. If you ever get up to Seattle, I'll buy you a pint.
