So I have an unlimited monthly account and I've been trying to download the updates through the updater and it continually times out. I don't think it's anything on my side since I don't have a firewall up. When I do get FG working I can get people to connect fine. I just have a problem with downloading the update packages. I've tried everything and I'm at the end of my tether. I'd like some help.

Where are you located? Some areas have their IP address blocked due to spam attacks.

Send an email to [email protected] mentioning the issue and your usual external IP address. They may have that region blocked.

and if you are on a wifi connection try moving somewhat closer to the access point and see if that helps at all...

The ip wasn't on a block list, but I suggested that he whitelist the following URLs and it seemed to work for him afterward.

whitelist URLS:
https://www.fantasygrounds.com
https://patch.fantasygrounds.com
https://server.fantasygrounds.com

Ikarospharike, if you ended up having to do anything else, please let us know so that others might be able to find a resolution if they experience the same thing.

Still having the same problem tbh. Everyone in my play group is having that problem. Would really like some help.

Hello Ikarospharike, if you can send additional details to us at [email protected], we can help you diagnose it further. The earlier email you sent to me indicated that the problem had been resolved, but there sounds like there is still some issue ongoing when you run the updater.

Items that are useful for debugging (send in email only and not on the forums since it has private information):

The description of your Operating System and version number
Whether or not you are running through Steam
Whether or not you are running it as an Admin
A screenshot of the Launch Screen for FG
A screenshot of your Settings screen
The paths entered into the two locations on your Settings screen
A copy of your most recent Update.log file which is found in your Application Data Folder. This can be accessed by launching FG and clicking the folder icon on the upper right.
