Currently I am using roll 20 for in person games. I run a DM version in one browser window and a player version in another. I chrome cast the player version to a big screen TV behind me. My players love it. I am very interested in the 5th Edition content available on Fantasy grounds. I would like to know if I could use Fantasy Grounds the same way. I'm sure I would have to use a cable to connect the TV as a second monitor because Fantasy Grounds isn't browser based as far as I know. Would the standard license allow me to run 2 instances and how would that even work with steam. Any answers would be greatly appreciated.

Not sure about Chrome-cast (never used it), but is that TV too far away for a cable? If not, I'd just do that and use my TV as a second monitor. The big plus here would be zero latency, of course.

Otherwise, I personally have no idea, so i apologize if my response was worthless, hehe.

Thanks for the link, but I didn't see an answer to my main question, "Would the standard license allow me to run 2 instances, and would that work with steam?" I don't want to pay for an Ultimate license in addition to buying the core class pack and the core monster pack, which I believe are required to run the published adventures.

ChromeCast Works but you might have to ChromeCast a second screen I think...
FG is not designed for Face to Face gaming but a growing number of people do use it for this.
Hit kylanias link for more info.
Also this one where chromecast is discussed further - https://www.fantasygrounds.com/forums/showthread.php?24171-Projecting-from-the-ceiling-to-a-game-table keep reading past where i say it wont work!

You can run a second instance of FG on the same computer and "Join Game" with a server address of localhost You can do this with any of the FG licences.

Oh and for Steam specifically - it wont let you launch a second instance! You have to go find the install folder and create a shortcut to FantasyGrounds.exe and use that to launch the second instance.
