More stupid questions, sorry.

Purchased an AAW adventure through RPGnow (https://www.rpgnow.com/product/131972/FGBASIC01-A-Learning-Time-for-Fantasy-Grounds?filters=0_2340_0_0_0)with some of my affiliate credits. Only problem is I cannot figure out how to get the pregens(packaged as an xml file)to show up. Is there any special place this xml file is supposed to go to get it to work?

Yes, what Nylanfs said.

- Make a note of where you saved the .XML files.
- Load a campaign.
- Click on the PCs button to bring up Character Selection.
- Click on the reddish button at the bottom of the Character Selection window to reveal the options.
- Click the button with the up arrow on it to import a character.
- Browse to the location you saved the XML files and select a character to import.
