View Full Version : Download Section: Maybe someone can help?

I had put together a number of maps for the Burning Plague adventure I was running. All the maps are done in Dundjinni and I thought the maps might be some use to people either planning to run the adventure or for their own purposes.

Problem - I literally have no web space (i.e. no place to put them so they are publicly available to the FG community) and Yahoo and MSN either have size limits which are hassling me or require usernames which means they won't really be accessible to everyone.

Is there a good Samaritan out there who can take a 1 MB file and give out the link to the group? If so, please PM or respond to the thread.

Also, if anyone is interested, as soon as I clean up some things, I will release the conversion of The Burning Plague for FG so that people have another adventure to run.

Thanks,
Matt

If I register, can I upload stuff or is it better just to send it to you directly?

:)

I can setup your own personal Gallery and then you can upload a JPG/GIF/Whatever of the Map for people to see there. You'd need to send me the Zipped up dja for me to add it to the downloads section - if you rather people not use the Map in the Gallery.

Does this make sense? :D

It does, but I had done it a little differently...I had simply exported it into a mod and was going to let people deal with it that way.

Perhaps better to simply zip the jpegs? What will users prefer? The actual app files (my only worry is that I don't particularly want to limit use of the maps to only people who own Dundjinni...right?)

Thanks,
Matt

I can do it anyway you need it. I can stick the Mod up for download, you can offer just the Maps in the Gallery and/or offer the Map/DJA files for download as a package. :D

OK...why don't I give you the zip of JPEGs and we'll just do it that way? People can than take them and put them in whatever campaign they need...

How do we go about doing this?

Done! :D

File is available here (https://www.otalisman.com/modules/wfdownloads/singlefile.php?cid=54&lid=133).

Gallery Preview of the maps is available here (https://www.otalisman.com/modules/xoopsgallery/view_album.php?set_albumName=fgrounds-maps-bplague).

Everyone should be able to get these without registration. :D

If anyone else is serious about posting their stuff and needing space, let me know - I have the space and the bandwidth (right now)

Ahh...you're a prince among men. Thanks so much for the favor!

Hopefully we'll get a downloads section going on this site pretty soon so the community can share things (hint hint nudge nudge :D)

No problem - glad to do it. :D

I'd love to see FG get the community support that Dundjinni does. :D

Those are cool.

Could I entice you to do some maps for the Wreck Ashore adventure?

I've made the module (which I intend to run for folks in Europe so if that's you don't download it). If it isn't you it is here (https://homepage.ntlworld.com/david.maple/FG/WreckAshore.mod). Feel free to use the module (Note for some reason Windows might save the file as WreackAshore.mod.zip in which case just remove the .zip. Also anyone else want to have a look feel free, unless you are likely to play it.

Little Tip: Modules don't support groups, when I originally planned that story it was grouped so all the numbered stories (GM background and conclusion) were one group, the lettered-only stories (Main locations and keys linking to the detail of those locations) were another group, and the final group were the alpha-numeric stories (details on locations and encounters). If you create three groups for this module and then sort the stories as I've suggested it helps keep it all tidy and makes it easier to find things.

Unfortunately Wreck Ashore really needs some extra maps one for the pirate camp, and a general swamp one, and less important a costal village (although I think I've found one of those). It only comes with the lighthouse.

Sorry for the late reply. Yes, you could, as I was going to go ahead and perhaps start a conversion of this anyway.

I happen to like the free WOTC adventures as I think they tend to be nice and short (usually) and fairly generic in terms of setting.

I think the more quick and short adventures that the community comes up with, the easier it will be to download the demo, see what it can do and get on board...more gamers to play with!
