View Full Version : Does anyone have experience exporting Unity Engine assets?

A little background: my group started on FG about 5 years ago. It didn't take us long to realize that making maps was very time consuming and also that we were terrible at it, so we started looking for an alternative.

After some poking around, we found Infinity Explorer, a tool created by the modding community around the baldur's gate/icewind dale/torment games to explore the graphic assets of games using the Infinity Engine. We pooled all of our (legally purchased) Black Isle games and used IE to repurpose the maps for personal use in our games. This solved our map problem at the time through sheer numbers; we scraped ~1000 of those beautiful, handpainted isometric maps altogether.

Now we're looking for more maps, both fantasy and sci-fi related. The games we're looking at are Shadowrun Returns and Pillars of Eternity, both using the Unity Engine, and I've seen posts on the boards talking about moving FG to Unity.

Here's my question: does anyone know of a similar utility for Unity that would allow us to access the assets within these beautifully crafted games for use at our table?

Alternately, if you know of any other similar approaches to mass map acquisition, please let me know.

Thanks,

Olodrin
