Hey all,

So Doug mentioned something about the Merge ID when export modules from campaigns from within Fantasy Grounds.

I found only very limited and ambiguous information on the wiki page here (https://www.fantasygrounds.com/wiki/index.php/Library).

I was hoping someone could shed some light on the subject for me.

To the best of my understanding, a merge id lets me export multiple, yet different, campaign elements, associated with one merge id. The merge id, then displays those different elements as one item in the library.

Is this correct?

If so, what are the naming/syntax parameters in using a merge id?

If not, please inform me.

Thanks,

Jake(DM)

https://www.fantasygrounds.com/wiki/index.php/Library#Module_Export

From Moon Wizard here (https://www.fantasygrounds.com/forums/archive/index.php/t-20216.html):

You would actually specify the same value in both modules for the Merge ID tag. (i.e. "Monsters")

The merge ID only applies to tabs in the main campaign list. Library lists are always listed per module.

Merge ID values will only merge categories that have the same category name, tab icon and decal icon.
If you want tabs to be merged make sure they have same name/decal/icon before you export with same merge ID.

As mentioned above, this won't merge in the library - it merges in the campaign data windows.
