View Full Version : Feature request/suggestion: Allow custom nicknames for servers in Connection History

I'm sorry for posting this here, but I have a feature request/suggestion. I swear I've come across a thread for suggestions before, but I'm just not finding it today.

Anyway, my suggestion is to allow nicknames for servers in the Connection History list. Currently, I'm in three campaigns. Each DM does use the server alias option, instead of IP, but FG is listing them all for me by my user name and the server's IP address. Even just listing the server's alias instead of the IP address would be preferable. Perhaps there is an option for this that I am missing?

Would it be possible to either allow custom names for recent servers, or add a separate column that lists the DM's user name, or something similar?

Currently, it shows:

Connection History:
tee_rex IP Address xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx
tee_rex IP Address xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx
tee_rex IP Address xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx

I'd like it to say:

Connection History
tee_rex DM Bob (Wednesday Nights)
tee_rex DM Timmy (Friday Nights)
tee_rex Susan the Vengeful

Ya dig? I know it's not a super important feature, but it would make the start of my sessions much more simple, and should be implementable with little time or effort.

If this is a feature you think you would like, here is the link to vote on it:

I thought I edited out the text of that post before it would be seen. I noticed your reply there after I had posted this.

Anyway, thanks for the reply.

Edit: Yikes, that suggestion now has only 10 votes and is over 18 months old. I guess I won't hold my breath on it.

Votes aren't the only thing that the developers take into account, so there's still a chance! But more than likely not until the Unity port, as the startup screens are being re-developed for Unity - some mockup screens here: https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.10152462357156630.1073741841.199230241629&type=3
